Green Label Criteria should be well defined, Green labeling should not be defined based on the use of renewable energy, but also on the use of #sustainable_resources. Producing #hydrogen from limited fresh water resources cannot be considered truly green. (personal opinion)

??Is reusing batteries worth it? Batteries are vital for achieving net-zero goals by storing renewable energy. However, they come with financial and environmental costs, and improper disposal can lead to toxic pollution and e-waste. ??Repurposing used batteries is a game-changer for clean energy storage. But the road to repurposed batteries is not so smooth... Read further: https://lnkd.in/ewpxwVrS #IECBlog #EnergyStorage

Ecoinvent LCI database v 3.10 brings updated country electricity and heat production emission data. The map shows which countries increased or decreased their emissions. Green = country reduced emissions, red = country increased emissions. Notably: Increases in GHG Emissions: Countries in Africa, Southeast Asia, and Central/South America have shown significant increases in their greenhouse gas emissions. For example, Honduras (75%), Colombia (70%), and Myanmar (55%) have experienced major increases in emissions due to changes in their energy production and consumption patterns. Decreases in GHG Emissions: Several European countries, such as Spain (30%), Portugal (33%), and Denmark (39%), have seen notable decreases in emissions, reflecting their successful efforts in integrating more renewable energy sources and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. **Questioning the Integrity of Carbon Credits in the Renewable Sector** The recent decision by certifiers to withhold the high integrity label for carbon credits based on current renewable energy methodologies has significant implications. Nearly a third of all credits traded in the voluntary carbon market have been affected, raising concerns about the credibility and effectiveness of these credits. The root of the issue lies in the concept of additionality, where the emission reductions represented by the credits must be additional to what would have occurred without the project. The decision underscores the importance of credible methodologies in ensuring the environmental integrity of carbon credits. As we move forward, it's crucial to develop robust standards that uphold the integrity of the voluntary carbon market, ensuring that investments in carbon credits lead to genuine, measurable environmental benefits. #CarbonCredits #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #EnvironmentalIntegrity #ClimateAction #VoluntaryCarbonMarket

Renewable and nonrenewable resources are energy sources that human society uses to function on a daily basis. The difference between two types of resources: Renewable energy is produced from natural sources that can be replenished over time. Sources of renewable energy are often considered a more sustainable solution than non-renewable energy because they do not produce pollutants and greenhouse gases that are harmful to the planet. The most significant difference between renewable and non-renewable resources is that non-renewable energy comes from finite resources that will eventually be depleted. They are considered less sustainable and damaging to the planet, with non-renewable energy being responsible for producing pollutants such as greenhouse gases. #Renewableenergy #Green #Sustainable
