Refresh (verb) ?? 1. give new strength or energy to; reinvigorate. For many courses we deliver, we realise that we're going back to old ways of doing things. We receive no updates, no newness, no adaptations after being trained. However, it is imperative that our knowledge is up-to-date, current and always looked at from a fresh perspective. For Suicide First Aid Associate Tutors, who have invested 4 full days participating and learning to be Associate Tutors, there is an expectation to deliver our courses, but sometimes life gets in the way and we end up losing track. However, here at NCSPET, we care for our tutors and find every way to support them and help them make a get back up and running with SFA whenever they've been out of delivering for a set period of time. SFA Refresh is only one of our many pieces of support for Tutors who have not delivered for over a year, and acts a great opportunity to give new strength or energy to SFA Tutors and allows them to see the course from a new perspective. Support like this helps provide a helping hand and ensures that when delivering these life saving programmes, you won't be alone on the journey! Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme (NDP3?) Modules 1-4 - 7th Oct ?? The Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme (NDP3?) treatment approach has one of the strongest evidence bases for use with children with developmental verbal dyspraxia/childhood apraxia of speech. The NDP3? approach provides a multi-layered, multi-target treatment approach involving working on several layers at the same time. The approach works from the child’s strengths: what they can already do and builds skills in small achievable steps from this point. NDP3? training is modular and split into two courses. The first training (modules 1 & 2) examines the current evident-base and NDP3? assessment and intervention approach. Modules 3 & 4 provide you with the opportunity to practice, through a series of supported assessments, treatment planning and goal-setting exercises. There’s the opportunity to raise clinical queries and to problem-solve case management issues. NDP3? training is also available as a view anytime, online learning programme using pre-recorded sessions for those who find it difficult to attend in person. Bystander CPR: "No Breaths" – Should Kids Learn CPR in School? What’s the Right Age to Start Teaching Lifesaving Skills? When someone collapses from sudden cardiac arrest, time is everything. The faster CPR is started, the better the chances of survival. But here's a question for all of us to consider: Should kids learn CPR in school? And if so, at what age should they start? We already know that bystander CPR—especially the "no breaths" or compression-only method—is a simple, lifesaving skill. But imagine the impact if this training were part of every child’s education. Kids are often the ones at home with parents, grandparents, or younger siblings when emergencies happen. Giving them the skills to act in those critical moments could save lives. Your Feedback Matters We want to hear from you! Let’s spark a meaningful conversation about this important topic: Do you think CPR should be a mandatory part of school curriculums? At what age do you believe kids should begin learning CPR? Have you or someone you know been in a situation where CPR made a difference? Join the Conversation We’re calling on educators, parents, healthcare professionals, and community leaders to weigh in. Share your thoughts in the comments or start a discussion with your network. Let’s use this platform to explore how we can empower our youth to save lives. ?? Make Your Voice Heard! ?? Tag someone who should be part of this discussion. ?? Share this post and let’s work together to raise awareness about the importance of bystander CPR. #BystanderCPR #CompressionOnlyCPR #CPRSavesLives #CPRForKids #TeachCPR #SaveALife #SuddenCardiacArrest #LifesavingSkills #CPRAwareness #YouthCPR #CPRMatters #HealthEducation #FirstAid #LinkedInDiscussion
