I find it hypocritical of women purporting to be feminists or those that are fighting for women's rights applauding women that aren't qualified getting important positions while there are many who are qualified. It is the reason many are calling for the scraping of women's representative positions. The CoK2010 has good intentions when it created the women's rep legislators but political parties have watered this down by rigging the process of choosing these women at the nominations and party elections. Instead these positions are filled with women that have no decorum, substance, intellect, experience or qualifications. These are flower-girls. Even this one has been appointed as a formality. A seat-filler. This is a loss for women.
A win for the Women of Kenya as Rebecca Miano becomes the first female Attorney General in Kenya! ????????????????????

Hello everyone, my name is Mahamed Boakai, a Democracy and Governance expert with emphasis on elections. Over the years, I have worked political parties, civil society, and government actors in Liberia and elsewhere to address important issues of accountability and transparency in political systems.?Throughout my development works, I have promoted and will continue to promote women leadership and female political participation in elections. This is why some of my mentees have called on me to recruit others to join me in elevating women confidence in electoral and political processes by committing?Safeguarding Women and Girls Against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence all through the electoral circle. This is a call to action for all of us, let us use this international campaign to challenge violence of all kinds against women and girls?to continue the promotion of women empowerment and safeguarding them even beyond the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence which ends today. Let us not end the campaign against inappropriate vices including GBV and sexual exploitation and abuse. Let us work to promote and uphold gender equity in our governance sphere. As you may be aware, there are 2,897 more female registered voters than male voters. This is a monumental feat that should be complemented by equal representation across our sociopolitical and economic considerations. Let me end by restating this year’s theme – From Talk: Let’s Join Hands to End Violence Against Women and Girls.

Justice for Rebecca Cheptegei: A Call to End Domestic Violence and Uphold Women's Dignity Across Africa The tragic loss of Rebecca Cheptegei, Uganda's national record holder in cross country, long-distance, and marathon running, has sent shockwaves through the continent and beyond. A powerful figure in sports, Rebecca’s life was senselessly cut short by domestic violence—a gross violation of human dignity and the fundamental right to live free from fear and harm. As we mourn her untimely death, we stand in solidarity with all those affected by gender-based violence and reaffirm that no one should suffer in silence. Rebecca’s murder underscores the pressing need to confront the pervasive issue of domestic violence across Africa and the world. Every woman has the inalienable right to live in safety and dignity, and this right must be upheld by all institutions, governments, and communities. We cannot allow this heinous crime to be met with silence or complacency. The fight against domestic violence is a fight for human rights, and Rebecca’s case reminds us that too many lives are being destroyed by this injustice. We call for swift and unequivocal justice for Rebecca Cheptegei and all victims of domestic violence. Her memory must galvanize us to take meaningful action, not only in Uganda but across the entire continent. We demand accountability from all parties involved, and we urge policymakers to prioritize the protection of women. Rebecca’s legacy will live on in our efforts to ensure that no other woman endures such a fate. #JusticeForRebecca #EndDomesticViolence #DignityForAll.
