And tonight, I'm up to class #10. This has given me a chance to test drive the idea ?? of value-for-value as a creator. If I'm going to preach to *bands* to do this because the idea simply clicked for me after 20+ years in radio, I should know firsthand if/how it works, right? So what I've learned so far from the V4V model is a few things. (I've learned this by teaching yoga live on Nostr every Monday night for the past 9 weeks). People will give value when they receive value—and this is up to interpretation. Some give more than others. There are times when a yoga student skips a week of paying and then pays for two weeks at once. Some don't pay at all. But none are turned away. (Obviously, this is a small group and these patterns are therefore easy for me to notice & remember). People also don't pay right away. For whatever reason, they pay well after class in the evening or even the next day. What I've noticed is my online students I teach on the #V4V model are passionate about the class. They show up almost every week—all of them. They love it so they promote it on their own #nostr accounts. I've begun promoting the class on Facebook and Instagram as well as here on LinkedIn. It feels like a heavier lift to explain Nostr things in non-nostr-native spaces. But I think anyone can hop on HiveTalk without a learning curve, so why not? Here's to being a pioneer! ??
