"Other duties as assigned" What exactly does that mean? I get that it's a sort of protective catch all for companies. But is that really fair to anyone? What are those other duties as assigned? Because if you know what they are, why not put it in the listing? Will those things take away from their key accountabilities? I've taken jobs with that term in the job listing. And some had me doing anything and everything - except what was in the original job description. Others had me do small administrative tasks no one else had time for. All of them made it unclear what the expectations would be by including that in the listing. And of course, we all should be willing to step up and do things not on our job description to help the team. But role clarity is one step to building a great team.
