?? ?Explore the complexities of Parkinson's disease (PD) management in France. With approximately 200,000 PD patients and 25,000 new diagnoses each year, France faces unique challenges in PD care. Patients are generally followed by both community-based and hospital-based neurologists, who collaborate and each see patients once a year. Despite these efforts, only 33.5% of PD patients receive a neurology consultation over a one-year period, falling short of the recommended standard of a consultation every 6 months according to the French national protocol for diagnosis and management (PNDS). Standard practice typically involves two visits per year, including one at a tertiary hospital, with access to PD nurses and educational therapies primarily available in university hospitals. Urban-rural disparities also impact access to specialists. Dr Shoamanesh challenges the notion that ESUS is an invalid construct, citing evidence that a #heterogeneous ESUS population has been shown to respond well in various trials of dual #antiplatelettherapy ?? This suggests the treatments tested in the negative anticoagulation trials have been the problem and not the construct itself.
