Mission Statement: Our mission at the B & B Fund is to provide support for nonprofits serving pregnant and birthing people in the United States in order to increase capacity to advance Maternal Mental Health. I am thrilled to introduce the launch of the Bea Jacobs & Bess Ingram Maternal Health Fund, a new Donor Advised Fund (DAF) established through Fidelity Charitable! This fund is dedicated to making a meaningful impact on maternal health across the United States. I will personally be making all charitable donations to maternal health organizations through this fund. The Bea Jacobs & Bess Ingram Maternal Health Fund aims to address critical issues surrounding maternal health, ensuring that mothers across the nation receive the support, care, and resources they need during pregnancy and childbirth. Through strategic grant-making and partnerships, I aspire to advance initiatives that improve access to quality healthcare, promote maternal well-being, and enhance outcomes for both mothers and babies. This initiative honors the legacy of Bea Jacobs and Bess Ingram, my maternal grandmother and paternal great grandmother respectively, both of whom had their own mothering stories that paved my way. I’m excited to see the growth of this fund throughout the year and see what impact I can make with year-end giving to my favorite maternal health organizations. November is a big deal for so many reasons —?and one of the most important (but perhaps seldom recognized) is that it's #NationalFamilyCaregiversMonth, a time to recognize the tireless work of more than 50 million family caregivers across the country. Looking for ways to commemorate this important month? Here are 7 ideas to thank a family caregiver in your life today: 1?? Simply say “thank you.” 2?? Offer your help. Relieve the caregiver and allow them some time to themselves. 3?? Offer to help the caregiver with his or her family. Often primary family caregivers are in the “sandwich generation” – they are taking care of a senior parent but also have a spouse and children at home. So offer to pick up a child from soccer practice, or take a dinner to the parents’ home. 4?? Write a card, letter, email or text. 5?? Spend some quality time with them. Maybe the caregiver needs to talk about the challenges, concerns, and anxieties they feel. This gift is one of awareness – taking the time to listen. You don’t have to have the answers. 6??
