Tides are changing. The neurodiversity movement is gaining traction in the early years sector (I’d like to think I may have had a little to do with it ??!!) and the sector is starting to MAKE the difference and BE the difference for our amazing neurodivergent children. But there is still work to be done, there are still practices that need to change, mindsets that need to shift to a strength based approach and policies that need to have true inclusion as their foundation. But it is starting. You ARE joining the movement You ARE making the changes needed You ARE gaining the confidence to speak up You ARE hearing the voices of children and their parents If you have already made those differences, shout it out, tell us what you’ve done and the impact it has had. If you haven’t yet had training or support from me or others like me, then get in touch and book it in. Lets keep moving forward Let’s do this Message me for more details and to have a chat. Preparation for adulthood arrangements in local areas: a thematic review – Ofsted/CQC https://lnkd.in/eV38bnkD A report by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) finds that local areas are working hard to improve support for young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), but a number of systemic challenges are limiting their ability to provide these young people with strong preparation for adulthood arrangements.? The report highlights a stark disparity in preparation for adulthood provision for young people with and without an education, health and care (EHC) plan, noting, for example, that those without an EHC plan are often not able to benefit from supported internship arrangements.? Ofsted and the CQC also found that too many young people with SEND face a ‘cliff edge’ in health support as they reach 18, with health services often not involved in planning for their transition to adult life. The report identifies examples of good practice and describes the new and creative solutions that some local areas are developing in response to the challenges they face. It notes that partnerships offering stronger preparation for adulthood arrangements make sure that preparation begins in the early years, and they work strategically across areas to share expertise and enhance provision in a way that reflects the views and wishes of children and young people.? The report makes clear that challenges will not be solved by any one part of the system in isolation. It calls for improved joint working across children’s and adult health services and makes a number of recommendations for relevant government departments and organisations, including:? ? developing a national EHC plan template that includes preparation for adulthood, so it is considered at the earliest possible stage, as well as national guidance to ensure there is a transitional period of support when an EHC plan ends ? continuing to increase the number of supported internships on offer for young people with SEND and expanding access to these opportunities, supported by a national campaign to encourage more employers to provide opportunities for young people with SEND ? strengthening national guidance on transitions from children’s to adult health services ? addressing conflicting responsibilities and gaps across social care, education and health-related provision, and creating a national set of standards outlining clear responsibilities for these different organisations ? addressing the national shortage of high-quality specialist residential and supported living accommodation ? ensuring all EHC plans consistently and accurately specify the health support that should be available at different stages of a child’s life as they reach adulthood #SEND #Ofsted #CQC #SpecialEducationalNeedsDisabilities #PreparationForAdulthood tri.x

Celebrating Impact: A School’s Belief in Our Work We recently received some fantastic feedback from a secondary school in Chingford, highlighting the real difference that Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) can make when schools truly invest in the approach. Schools that believe in and embrace our services help create real opportunities for positive change, and this feedback reinforces just that. "A special shout-out to Jason Phasouliotis, whose dedication to going above and beyond did not go unnoticed. On multiple occasions, when students scheduled to see him were absent due to illness, Jason proactively offered his time to Inclusion Centre students instead. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with students expressing that they felt truly valued and supported. Being given that time made them feel invested in, reinforcing the importance of professionals who go the extra mile." This is exactly why we do what we do. When schools champion SFBT, when professionals like Jason step up, and when young people feel heard and empowered—that’s when real change happens. ???? #SolutionFocused #MakingADifference #InvestingInYoungPeople For more information visit:

The horrific riots and violence that are taking place in the UK have left many of us feeling concerned and unsettled. While the immediate impact of these events is visible in our streets and communities, there's a deeper, often overlooked effect that we need to address: the impact on our children. As parents, educators, and community leaders, it's crucial to understand how such unrest can shape the minds and hearts of our young ones. Here are some key points to consider: 1. Emotional Well-being: - Children are incredibly perceptive. They absorb the emotions and tensions around them. The fear and anxiety stemming from riots can lead to stress, anxiety, and confusion. It's essential to create a safe space where they can express their feelings and ask questions. 2. Perception of Safety: - Riots disrupt the sense of security that children rely on. This can affect their confidence and willingness to explore the world around them. We need to reassure them of their safety and the stability of their environment. 3. Exposure to Violence: - Repeated exposure to violent scenes, whether in person or through media, can desensitise children and normalize aggression as a way to resolve conflicts. We must guide them towards peaceful and constructive ways of dealing with disagreements. 4. Impact on Education: - School closures or disruptions can affect children's learning and social development. Ensuring that education remains a constant and stable part of their lives is vital, even in challenging times. 5. Role Models and Leadership: - Children look up to adults for cues on how to behave. During crises, our actions speak louder than words. Demonstrating resilience, empathy, and constructive problem-solving can teach them invaluable life lessons. 6. Community Engagement: - Involvement in community activities and discussions can help children feel part of the solution. Encouraging them to participate in rebuilding efforts and community support can foster a sense of responsibility and belonging. In light of these challenges, it's imperative that we come together to support our children through these turbulent times. Open conversations, emotional support, and proactive measures can help mitigate the negative effects of the riots on our young generation. Let’s work towards creating a future where our children can thrive in a society characterized by peace, understanding, and mutual respect. It’s not just about addressing the present, but also about shaping a better tomorrow for our youth. M.Y.T.E (mighty) - Manage Your Thoughts and Emotions is on a mission to provide children with the tools to face any negative situation they come across. From as young as 4, we aim to teach them how to be more resilient and increase their self-confidence and self-esteem.
