I was writing a comment to Dawn Coggins,' blog a bit ago about supporting our team members in their career growth and development, and the more I thought about the discussion, the more upset and angry I got.? ? I was sharing with Dawn how?sometimes my team gets paid in personal checks when on-site team members join our training, and each time it happens I just want to shake their bosses and exclaim that a person who self educates is the exact type of person we should be celebrating and supporting! ? Why are they not giving their team members the resources they want and need to succeed? ? So this weekend, I made a decision.?If their company wouldn’t support them, I would.?From now on, if someone isn’t being supported by their company, let me know.?I will get you on that training.?We’ll make it happen. ? Or if someone is between jobs, we got you.? ? Our industry depends on people who are passionate and care about increasing their skills, and I want to support that as best as I can, even if it means a little less revenue. ? And conversely, if you are with a company who DOES support their team members, not just by having “check the box” training but also providing them with the means to educate themselves in ways that nurture their own unique career path, then give a shoutout below.? ? Let’s celebrate the amazing companies who know how to foster passion in this space!
