Why Russell Brunson, Tony Robbins, and Alex Hormozi are like Soap Not Dove.

Why Russell Brunson, Tony Robbins, and Alex Hormozi are like Soap Not Dove.

The masters of advertising include a seminal figure whose ideas inspired a new brand called Dove soap, brought to you by Lever Brothers which is now part of giant Unilever.

The Dove brand still rakes in the dough. That's true for ClickFunnels, Unleash the Power Within, and Hormozi Nation which now owns breakout brand sensation training Skool.

Russell with his potato gun, Tony the CEO Whisperer brand, and Alex the newest addition who inspires the Pepsi Generation of the modern world to follow his YouTube page.

The staying power of Dove came from reinventing the brand honestly.

The more things change the more they stay the same. As the relentless pace of global change powers rapid fire transformation the question is what's the next Dove Soap?

David Ogilvy like Brunson, Robbins, and Hormozi has the classic entrepreneur origin story. David learned to sell by selling. He embraced fear, transformed, and elevated. It wasn't easy.

Ogilvy learned to sell by knocking on lots of doors. Russell built thousands of profitable funnels, Tony got inspired to be kind to many strangers, and Alex slept on gym owner floors.

The principles of how to sell as an original have not changed.

The more things change the more they stay the same. What does change are the times. Nobody sells ovens door to door today. It could be done but it feels strange.

Watch Dove Versus Soap. Does your inner entrepreneur open with delight. It better as you will be spending most of your time figuring out how to market and sell like natural Ogilvy.

Decide if you want to become a marketer or not. It's not that it's not possible. Is it what you want? There are other ways beyond marketing that work right now to succeed as you desire.

What strikes me is the desire for something new. The world had been through two major wars, a flu pandemic, and a massive global migration. Marketing was new back then.

The United States transformed itself as Blacks moved North, immigrants took over major cities, and Roosevelt remade the country. Everybody had been changing for years.

Triumph struck with the death of Hitler and Truman's bomb. Ike built highways, and a perfect life in the suburbs on TV created like Instagram a feeling of missing out for many.

Most Skool communities feel like Tip Top bread.

The desire for something new moment hit me like a ton of bricks early in 2023. I closed my Skool community, gave some coaching money back, and prepared to return to my legacy biz.

In this case it was not an impact play but rather a lead generation and sales outsourcing company that I'd turned into passive income back in 2020 to pursue a better new future.

What's next turned out to be turning myself into a social media marketer and influencer personality in waiting. As I got deeper down the rabbit hole yuck was the inevitable outcome.

Time for a commercial.

RED PILL PATHWAY - CUE UP 30 SECOND SPOT

People want decent products.

Most stuff is crappy.

Make it great.

You will succeed.

Is Tip Top even bread?

Are we done yet?

I'm finished.

With what, Larry?

The bullshit.

That's what.

What does that mean, folks?

Marketing.

What's that, Larry?

It's when somebody promotes or sells something to make money.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT?

Nothing.

It's not a moral question.

So, what are you talking about then?

Ah.

It's simple.

Look at it like this.

Is anything real?

Ask yourself that simple question.

Do you want to look like that lady?

Sure, why not?

She's not got a blemish.

Wouldn't you rather just be yourself?

Can we figure out how to monetize that asks the marketer.

Well no actually you can't.

It's an oxymoron.

Simple put if you try then you aren't real.

If you have a conversation with yourself or somebody else about if what you are going to do, say, or try will WORK or NOT WORK you missed the entire point of this commercial spot.

Real means exactly what it means. Being an original. Not trying to figure out what will work to get you liked, popular, or accepted by the market.

Wait a minute, Larry.

This is quite a radical idea.

Are you saying people should tell the truth?

What about if it doesn't work?

What if nobody buys?

What if oh my God people don't like my truth?

Would people buy a program on how to not care about not being liked when I tell my truth in public?

NO. NO. NO.

You are not getting the point of this at all.

Back to the regularly scheduled program now that I've exhausted my time for this modern version of the Dove Spot.

Me and Scott at Cool Blues Club. Notice their uniforms. Miles and Train were playing.

When I was in Kyoto Japan years ago with my cousin who speaks the language we had a blast. It was a week of late nights, Sumo wrestling matches at the bars, and conversations.

One interesting thing about Japan is how people rebel there. They have a rebellion uniform. He explained. Those who can't conform to stand out wear a specific sort of hair cut.

It's a uniform in the country that loves uniforms. Without a uniform who am I as the story goes. Is it any different if you copy others or buy their version of a no blemish life?

Original rebels in their rebel uniforms.

THOUGHTS FROM THE BRIDGE OF THE LIBERATED NEBUCHADNEZZAR

Here's what I see coming and why.

It's happening fast.

Blick and you miss the shift.

That's how change works.

?? People wake up and stop caring about celebrities.

?? Social media industry celebrities wake up and stop caring about being celebrities.

?? The world wakes up and stops caring about conforming.

?? A vanguard forms of originals who become themselves.

?? Marketers get crushed by originals who don't want to become celebrity marketers.

Everybody makes tons of money.

Even the marketers but they've got to work a lot harder to get more.

The people who don't care about money make more because they realize they don't have to market, sell, or compromise to get more of it.

It's already happened.

Many of us noticed.

I'm calling this new trend that's not a trend Liberation Mechanics.

Here's a few chapters to give you an idea of the concept.

I've spent more than a few years roaming about figuring out how to liberate myself from the crazy and find my own way forward not having to collect a paycheck.

It's a wild adventure ride.

I'll share the real stories.

Oh, and I don't ask people if they like my drafts anymore.

I'm happy with them.

I know it's good.

It will get better.

Enough said.

Are you ready?

Buckle up.

It's going to be fun.

Watch the hierarchies collapse.

What's not real burns.

The ashes rise as Phoenix.

That's not a trend.

LEAVING THE BRIDGE TO RETURN BACK TO THE LAND OF REMOTE CONTROLS

This could get to 1000 pages like Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged.

When something is over it's over fast.

Will anybody miss ClickFunnels, Unleash the Power, and Skool when it's gone?

It feels like no.

What lasts is real.

It's not created for a purpose.

The purpose is original creation.

It starts out weird, gets clear, and then gets weird again.

That's the stuff that lasts.

When you package it you get the Monkey's or a Boy Band.

I watched the TV show for free and paid for Beatles Albums.

Original creation used to be the domain of music, art, and culture.

Those walls broke down with the creator economy.

The marketers stand in our way.

They stand in your way.

The more you try to make it popular the less original you become.

Rather than learn from popularity contest winners like Russell, Tony, and Alex get deep into how creation works as it mainstreams into the world.

Read what you like instead of Funnel Secrets, find people who share your desire instead of a Skool chat group with calendar and gamification, and get deep into what you love the most.

Know the Laws, Principles, and Mechanisms that work not try to transform yourself at a cellular level in an auditorium with thousands of your new best friends hyped on energy juice.

Isn't it time folks to bury this stuff?

I'm seriously done.

It's exhausting.

I've been in this industry my entire life in one form or another.

The opt-out was easier than I thought!

Prosperity comes fast when you give up what no longer works and collapse into the arms of inner truth allowing what's next for you to come fast into your field of view.

It takes courage.

We've got a room for that.

It takes insight.

We've got a room for that.

It takes clarity.

We've got a room for that.

It takes peers.

We've got a room for that.

We will have a room for just about everything except one where people tell you what to do, think, or be because they are that.

Nobody knows the answer for me.

Nobody knows the answer for you.

What does exist is shared desire.

Let's experience our live and business on our own terms.

No gurus with answers on the stage.

No audience without answers in the audience.

I don't follow this stuff but explore from time to time to stay current on crazy.

HARD TALK ABOUT BELIEFS AND HOW SUCCESS CAN'T BE MEASURED

Most people aren't good at timing trends.

They aren't great at marketing.

Vanilla Ice made $20M most of it from cashing in on being famous for singing a rap song designed to sell in the marketplace.

Many celebrate these successes. It reminds me of what's happening on Skool today. Maybe I'm not seeing the deeper products underneath all the how to sell your stuff programs.

Some people watch TV shows that don't matter instead of creating a life for themselves.

Others want to follow a successful person, copy them, and not think too hard.

The majority want to make a living, have a decent life, and keep it simple.

It's easiest to blaze your own path.

You don't have to set forest fires.

It's not necessary to do things that don't feel right for you.

That's the point of originality.

It's about being yourself.

Not figuring out how to get popular, following celebrities, and copying others ideas.

SOAP BOX COLLAPSED BUT I DIDN'T HURT MYSELF AT LEAST HOPEFULLY.

NO I STILL DON'T CARE.

DO WHATEVER YOU WANT.

I KNOW WHAT I WANT.

YOU DECIDE!!!!

WILL THIS WORK?

DAMN IT!

JUST KIDDING.

I GET THROUGH THIS FAST NOW.

THAT'S CALLED LIBERATION FROM CARING WHAT OTHERS THINK.

FREEDOM FROM NOT CARING IS NOT A REAL THING.

THAT'S CALLED DYING.

TRUE ORIGINAL STORY OF THE WEEK.

I'm reading Ayn Rand Atlas Shrugged because Russell Brunson used her Prime Mover idea in his Skool community. I've joined and post my own content there. Sneaky of me huh?

I've been going deep into what Ayn meant, the book, and learning about her life story. What strikes me is how many people believe what she said meaning they can't think originally.

She held onto an old idea that may have swayed her original work of art into a specific direction. Her beliefs learned in Russia came from watching her father's business crushed.

This book inspired Liberation Mechanics writing approach.

I wrote an article and will write more as I'm learning from Ayn Rand how to use the action adventure story genre to make it easier to express complex hard-to-explain thoughts.

What I know to date is that it's a great idea. It feels right, has been fun, and I'm almost done with another chapter of The Rise of the Liberation Mechanics. Ayn Rand wrote in the 50s.

That was back around the same time advertising was fun, new, and creative. Her ideas feel a bit out of date. That's why I'm updating them. My thoughts are called Liberation Mechanics.

This was true in the 1950s but not in the 2020s.

The technology entrepreneurs created a technology bureaucracy. I'm going to spent some time with Kafka when I get the time. The silicon entrepreneurs created mazes of confusion.

The principle of this idea makes sense. What I'm hearing in what Ayn noticed is the same as what I'm saying. Those who control money crush freedom and entrepreneurial liberation.

In Atlas Shrugged the brother represents the people who run Google, Facebook, and Amazon and the sister a true entrepreneur reminds me of those creating what's next.

Damn this guy still tells us who will succeed and who won't in this new era.
