Our top priority is to expand and innovate to serve more individuals and families in need. We've come far in 20 years, but the need for lifetime support is enormous. We must meet the demand for services that grow as our children grow up into adulthood. Living, leisure, learning, and earning are all critical areas we are poised and ready to address. As a grassroots, parent-led organization, we rely on community support to operate. Where will we be in 20 years without family and community involvement? Love4Life empowers individuals with learning disabilities and autism to make friends and find love. They host workshops and events including themed discos, bowling, restaurant visits, and games nights. This is complemented by one-to-one support. 87% of workshop attendees said skills learned help them to be more independent. Statutory adult social care services are shrinking, with 42% of existing members not receiving any statutory support. Unsurprisingly, demand for Love4Life’s support is skyrocketing, but their IT infrastructure is hindering their growth. Love4Life will use our funding to revamp their website and implement a CRM system to upscale their impact and reach in underserved communities. It will also support enhanced fundraising efforts. Charities are the heroes, we must support them as much as we can. They offer tangible advice, guidance and emotional support to those that need it most, and can generally struggle for funding and resources. Number 16 suggests partnering with charities to design useful resources for autistic people. "16. Work with autism charities to produce “autism design guides” for a range of industries. Show how to create appropriate and supportive design of premises, furnishings, equipment and procedures, and include examples of where these have worked well." Take it that step further and create a social media strategy around content to help autistic people engage with your business and feel understood. This can be a great way to attract autistic talent and build a reputation in the autism employment space. Appealing to talent in the autistic community will not only enrich your culture and diversity, but bring out the best of your own staff and products/services down the line. Introducing one of our #AmbassadorsForAutism - Pitcher Partners! 'Our organisation has a Workplace Giving Program where our employees and partners can nominate charities to support for the year. Many of our team members have experience caring for family members with #autism, which has generated a lot of support for the guidance, awareness, and resources provided by Autism Awareness Australia to families in need. As a corporate ambassador for this charity, we can leverage this collective support to make a greater impact. Additionally, by promoting #autismawareness and advocacy, we can foster discussions in the workplace about #neurodiversity and the responsibilities of caregivers. As a corporate ambassador, it is important to create greater awareness about supporting neurodiversity in the workplace. It is also crucial to better understand the support that corporates can provide to their #neurodiverse employees, as well as caregivers of loved ones on the #autismspectrum.
