THE PARGO FISH Just like the Pargo fish, thriving requires preparation, adaptability, and risk-taking. These lessons from my own recent growth journey apply widely to the professional world. P – Preparation: Just as the Pargo prepares to thrive in its environment, preparation in your career sets the foundation for success. Skill-building and planning help seize new opportunities. A – Adaptability: The Pargo adjusts to changing waters. In the workplace, adaptability to new roles or industries keeps you competitive and resilient. R – Risk-taking: The Pargo takes risks exploring unknown areas. Similarly, taking calculated risks in your career often leads to growth and new opportunities. G – Growth: Growth, like the Pargo’s journey, is a continuous process. Consistent effort helps you build skills and reach new milestones. O – Openness: Openness to new experiences keeps the Pargo thriving, just as staying open to learning and innovation keeps you ahead in your career. Below is a picture of me visiting ALX hub as an alumni, when Nigeria had a blackout. Thanks to alx_africa for the hub initiative. As a remote worker in Nigeria How did you handle the Nigerian Blackout during the week.

As a producer, you never stop learning. New projects introduce you to new variables, and you learn the value of a thing within the context of its application.?I learned collaboration, coordination of many moving parts, flexibility, adaptability, found interesting ways to solve problems, and found MANY new vendors. I learned to pace myself and look for the light at the end of a long tunnel. Most importantly, I did it with some of the coolest people in Africa- on the Miss Nigeria team. We planned a 2- week grooming camp for 33 deserving young women. We designed a schedule that covered health, beauty, financial literacy, civic responsibility, technology and AI, mental wellbeing, dance and grooming. It was every inch the kind of collaboration that makes you thankful to be part of something bigger than yourself. and knowing that we didn’t even touch ALL the plans we had made for the grooming camp, excites me because it tells me that there’s so much more we can do. The nights were mostly short. we ran on more adrenaline than sleep. day and night didn’t have much difference. some of my pitches were left unread. but we recorded many beautiful victories and had several moments of laughter. As we come to the end of the year, I’m reminded that it’s not just important to say something, but to be seen doing that thing. It is necessary to mention that I had leaders at The Audrey Silva Company to learn from- Mildred Okwo and Rita Dominic-Anosike- women who move with vision and purpose. Miss Nigeria's saying is ‘Queens don’t compete, they reign’. Another evident value throughout the program was that ‘Queens don’t compete, they collaborate’- I’d be taking these lessons forward in everything else I do. I’m excited about the coming year and all the opportunities I’ll have to apply myself.?#culturaldiversity #missnigeria #beautypageantry #financialintelligence #civicresponsibility #nigeria #pageantproduction #associateproducer #groomingcamp #nneamakanwadei

A Fresh Start and a Historic Day! ???? New month, new opportunities, right? But this one’s extra special. It's Nigeria's Independence Day, a day that reminds us of the beauty of freedom and the power of resilience. Now, let's talk about you for a second. Just like Nigeria’s diverse cultures, there’s only one YOU in this vast world of possibilities. Think about it—no one can approach IT support, virtual assistance, or any skill the way you do. Your unique blend of talent, passion, and creativity is your superpower! I know the IT industry might feel crowded, but here’s a little secret: no one can bring your perspective, your solutions, or your flair to the table. That’s the magic. Whether you're troubleshooting a tech issue or managing client schedules, the way you handle it is unmatched. So, as we step into this new month and celebrate Nigeria's rich heritage, embrace your individuality. Be bold. Be confident. Whether you're aiming to solve tech challenges or offer unmatched support, this space *needs* your unique style. After all, our independence as individuals lies in our ability to stand out. Happy Independence Day, Nigeria! And cheers to a new month of growth, freedom, and endless possibilities. ?? Ever wondered how an unexpected moment can change everything? My journey into facilitation and training is the perfect example of the saying, Success is when opportunity meets preparation. In October 2019, I was scheduled to accompany one of my superiors from Taiwo AKINLAMI Academy to train some precious children in Isolo community, Lagos State, Nigeria. Since the venue was close by, I arrived early, expecting her to follow shortly. However, as time passed, I realized something wasn’t right. She was stuck in a bad traffic jam, and after a few frantic calls, we decided I should start with some icebreakers while she made her way to the venue. But the traffic was relentless—six hours long. She never made it. That day, with no immediate preparation, I ended up facilitating the entire session on my own. And to my surprise, it went exceptionally well! The clients had nothing but glowing feedback. But this didn’t just happen by chance. I had been preparing for years—first as the head of my student chamber (Lincoln's Inn) at university, where I led chamber meetings, participated in debates, and took part in moot court exercises. I had also been working with children in my community for nearly 7 years, mentoring and teaching over 100 of them. Most importantly, I absorbed everything I could at my organization. I engaged with my superiors, asked questions whenever I was confused, and soaked in every piece of information. So, when the moment came, I was ready. Since then, I have lost count of facilitation sessions. I have trained/spoken to over 5,000 children and 10,000 caregivers and stakeholders through various national and international platforms. I'm grateful to my incredible mentors, Mr Taiwo AKINLAMI and Mrs Milayo Lami who took a chance on me. So, are you waiting for an opportunity? Keep preparing. And if you've been preparing, know that opportunities will present themselves. Stay ready! Does this resonate with you? Do well to let me know in the comments and share the post with someone. #Safeguarding #FacilitationJourney #ChildProtection #OpportunityKnocks #BePrepared #GrowthMindset
