Truly, my biggest Flex has always been Knowing believing and loving that I'm "One of A Kind." That no one on this earth can replace me. That I pick n choose who I rock with 247. I do what I want, when I want and why I want, and my loyalty to those I rock with is always prime. I never realized how many struggled with this until I started on social media. As a visual brander and executive producer, I'm often brought Artists by labels and executives and told to "fix" them. I get their analogy meaning make us all more money. However, I never realized how empty and willing people were to just go along with "status que." The make me look like her or him. Make me sound better, and perform better. I never adopted the complex that I'm the creator. My goal was to always give them the "polish" they had within. Yes, it takes an extreme amount of work and time, but truly, each of my clients shine different after we link up, and that warms my heart to the core. I've learned that my biggest build-up was not having parents love, being silverspooned, and catered too. No bedtime stories, cuddles , or consistent "help" when I needed them the most. I did it all myself, and now I see the blessing that I thought was a generational curse. You couldn't break me even if you tried. I want to encourage those today who didn't have that growing up. The ones that dealt with addiction and abuse. You are one of a kind all day every day. You can not be replaced ever. Your imperfections are your perfections. Never settle with lack luster friendships/relationships. Link up only if it's a level up. Alone, you are never when you are internally solid. Whether you're a dancer, singer, musician, actor, model, speaker or presenter, we all experience that uncomfortable feeling during practice as we learn new material. But here’s the truth: that awkwardness is exactly what helps you grow and master your craft! As performers, we have the incredible ability to shape our physicality and expressions to match our vision. But it takes repeated practice to get there and we need the resistance to strengthen those muscles. In my latest video, I dive into why embracing those is key to refining your skills. Every great performance starts with imperfect rehearsals, and by pushing through that discomfort, real progress happens. ?? If anyone reading this isn't a performer but battles with awkwardness in your body, I encourage you to sit with that feeling and trace it to its root. Allow it to lead you, don’t ignore or fight it. Literally, speak to it and ask what it’s doing in your body. Wait for the response. In a private space, repeat the move or position that made you feel awkward, and then create the move or posture you'd prefer. Nothing is like wearing 80's clothes and dancing the night away to shift your energy. You see, before heading to this concert, I was feeling really low. The type of low in which I didn't even think I was going to go. I just wanted to crawl into a cave and sulk by myself... But then MaryBeth invited me to have fun by rocking old MJ jackets and getting our dance on. And my higher self said, "Yes, please." It is in these moments that that I am so grateful to: 1. Have a loving, supportive partner and loving accountabili-buddy (especially when I am going through my stuff). 2. Realize that suffering is a choice. 3. Know I can choose abundance and positivity even when life feels like it's wrapping me in a wet blanket of negativity. 4. Remember that activating your values is the best way to feel better. 5. Move my issues through my tissues with dance. (And yes, it is a lot more fun when you are wearing 80s clothes and bringing back old dance moves.) I don't know how I've never come across this singer before... Her technical ability is simply incredible. Her performance stunning. Every single line resonates, not just with my heart but my soul too. I wanna keep listening (& am..!) Yet this performance is years old and I'm only just finding her. I think she's amongst the very best - yet the others have had more fame, fortune and airtime (at least in this country) So, I guess what I want to stress here is this: ? Those "gurus" out there with the huge numbers of followers, there not necessarily the best. So... don't compare yourself to them - EVER! ? Don't base your decision to work with someone based on their apparent "fame" - dig deeper, make sure they have the skills, experience you need for where you are right now and can get you to where you want to be ? Be You - absolutely and unapologetically. This amazing woman has found her perfect range and she's mastered it. She's not using the keys others use - we're left thinking she's actually singing higher than she actually is.... ? You've got to go "all-in" - Imagine this performance if she didn't give it all... The same is for your business. Stop worrying about what others might say - go for it ?? ? Finally - invest in your brand, your visibility. Get yourself out there and don't stop.
