this is from a Forensic Science Service fact sheet, published a year before it closed.?Fibres was the second most utilised evidence type after DNA.? Within 5 years the national fibre caseload had collapsed. This is the difference between scientists setting strategies based upon what is needed scientifically to assist the criminal justice system, and the police setting strategies based upon cost and their ideological perceived value of different evidence types. I may be way off the mark here, but as far as I know, victims and criminals still wear clothes. They sit on seats. They transfer their fibres onto surfaces and take them from the surfaces. Fibres are not obsolete, nor have they been replaced by technology, when you hear that argument, call it out for what it is. There remains a huge pent-up demand for fibres within the criminal justice sytem, it is being deliberately suppressed to the detriment of it.

On the 19th, Plainbit Digital Forensics Center had the honour of becoming the first DFIR company to be accredited as a testing laboratory in the digital forensics field (mobile collection/analysis, disc collection/analysis) by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) under the National Institute of Technology and Standards of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. Plainbit's Digital Forensics Center operates the largest private analysis centre comprising professional analysts and e-discovery experts from various fields such as prosecutors, police, and FTC, and we provide more than 1000 DFIR-related analysis services to various industries annually. As of 2023, the APAC MRA has 55 accredited organisations in 33 regions, the ILAC MRA has 109 accredited organisations in 116 regions, and the IAF MLA has 83 accreditation bodies from 5 regional organisations (approximately 70+ countries) that mutually accept each other's accreditation reports and certificates. It is understood that Plainbit's analysis reports are internationally recognised.
