I can’t believe that I’m already halfway through my summer internship experience at EY-Parthenon. There are many people I would like to thank, from my Peer/Buddy, Youngtak L., to my counselor, James Farmer, who have both helped guide me through my first 4 weeks. I’ve also been lucky to have a lot of other support along the way, including from Carter Hebert, Zachary Shirk, Dylan Hutcheson, Charles Breitmayer, and Erik Beinart, CSSGB. Throughout my experience, I’ve learned a lot. My three biggest takeaways so far are: 1. It’s okay to crawl before you can walk. You won’t know everything when you first land at a new place, but taking the time to really absorb your new surroundings and trusting the process is critical to early growth (attribution - Halle Morse). 2. Get early buy-in. It’s easy to go down the wrong rabbit holes and spend a lot of time looking for the wrong answers to the wrong questions. Make sure you’re getting a lot of feedback along the way to make sure you’re staying on right track (attribution - also, Halle Morse). 3. Related to that, asking for feedback about your performance early and often is crucial to developing the technical skills needed for long-term success. More specifically, helping your feedback providers remember what you worked on is key to making their lives easier and being more direct about your performance (attribution - Whitney Cartey and Youngtak Lee). There’s so many more people I want to thank, and who I’m grateful for getting the chance to work with and learn from this summer. There’s also so many more lessons that I wish I could share. For now, though, I’m looking forward to my remaining 4 weeks at EY-P, whatever they may bring.

Summer Internship: Assemble! My First Day at Aditya Birla Capital Remember that scene in Avengers where Captain America walks into Stark Tower for the first time? Towering tech, a diverse team of brilliant minds, and a palpable sense of purpose – that's exactly how my first day at Aditya Birla Capital felt! Sure, I wasn't facing an alien invasion (yet!), but stepping into the bustling office as a summer intern felt like joining a league of extraordinary individuals. The induction program was a whirlwind of activity, each session packed with valuable insights. Leaders from various departments shared their experiences, offering guidance that felt like Nick Fury himself laying out a top-secret mission briefing. But the real highlight? Meeting my fellow interns. This incredible bunch came from all walks of life, each bringing their unique talents and perspectives to the table. We bonded over coffee, laughed during icebreakers (think "assemble" moment, but with hilarious introductions instead of a battle cry!), and quickly discovered a shared enthusiasm for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. It's safe to say we've got the makings of a superhero team ready to tackle anything! The day wasn't all strategy and spreadsheets (although those are important too, of course). There was a genuine emphasis on fostering connections within the intern cohort. We participated in engaging team-building activities that helped us break the ice, discover each other's strengths, and build a solid foundation for collaboration. By the end of the day, the initial nervousness had transformed into an electric energy of excitement and anticipation. Looking ahead, to prospect learning from industry veterans, contributing my own skills to meaningful projects, and being part of a company that makes a positive impact is incredibly motivating. These next two months promise to be an incredible journey, filled with learning, growth, and, hopefully, a few adventures along the way (who knows, maybe we'll even encounter some interesting projects that require us to "assemble" our intern squad once again!). So, here's to the beginning of an exciting summer internship! Stay tuned for further updates on my internship journey – it's going to be an epic one! #SummerIntern #FirstDayFeeling #Excited #LetsDoThis #AdityaBirlaCapital

As we onboard our summer interns from business schools across the country, it takes me back to the time when I spent 08 weeks in Deloitte (at that time spread across multiple blocks in Hyderabad), 06 years back. As I continue to grow with the firm - what has stayed with me from the summers of 2018 were the leaders who were genuinely invested in giving me an enriching experience, workshops that helped me navigate open-ended problem statements, and connections which I nurtured (Satyaki Dutta - who is still my go-to person for all work-related sounding board, Arnab Ghosh - a peer turned into a friend turned into a colleague with whom I had some of my first campus projects, Sonal Pandey - who very graciously continues to keep me under her wings). While the PPO was a much celebrated cherry on the icing - I actually do not remember much of the evening when the news of my PPO was delivered (there definitely was a call to my then buddy, Rupin Varma, while my friends were banging my dorm door - egging me to come out). What I do remember are the conversations through the 08 weeks of internship (Guneet Kapur, who patiently mentored me through the 08 weeks while not being in the same location - pre-pandemic virtual interactions FTW!), how every idea of mine was met with encouragement, and well, much needed lessons on humility (that's how I found a mentor for life - Harshita Shrinagesh - whose famous line I still follow to the T - "know my business before you teach me about it") and how professionals around me took time out of their regular commitments (Steffanie Mathews and Shyamanta (Sam) Baruah, I'm sure, were short of putting a restraining order on me, or at least blocking their calendar view from me) to invest in someone who was #DiscoveringTheirImpact. While this is just one of the snippets of how Deloitte #MakesAnImpactThatMatters and you can truly experience #ColleaguesForLife in this firm - what excites me on the other side (and yes, the grass is greener this side, no pun intended. Or may be intended. OK, definitely intended) is to see #StoriesOfImpact unfold through the coming weeks. Stay tuned to our page as we propel the #ChangemakersOfToday, who will soon transform into the #LeadersOfTomorrow, to #GrowWithAdvisory!
From breaking the ice with Divakar Jain, Leader, Risk & Financial Advisory, and Manoj GNV, Lead Talent Business Advisor, Risk & Financial Advisory, to breaking down business intricacies; from sketching storyboards to sketching career paths with our alums – our summer interns have had an interesting start to their Internship. We're excited to see ‘Your story, your impact’ come to life. A few weeks back, I was invited to share my take on how to navigate through the Summer Internship with 2024 Batch of Aditya Birla Group Leadership Programs interns. Reflecting on my internship and 3 ABGLP stints over the last 1 year, a few points that came up in the discussion: 1. Investing time in understanding the problem statement and expectations 2. Creating a project charter and designing intermediate milestones to check progress and scope of improvement 3. Discussing about the project and challenges with people for better clarity of thought and fresh external POVs 4. Understanding the macro vision and direction, and how the project fits in

Last night, I participated in the 4th session of our 8-week Summer Internship Program. Led by the insightful Sheeri Uruba and hosted by our dedicated CMO Abdul Moiz, the session offered a deep dive into creating and optimizing Facebook pages. The speaker covered everything from adding banners, profile photos and bios, to exploring innovative ways to sell products on the platform. I, with my other fellows, was assigned two tasks: creating a complete Facebook page following the guidelines and joining 5 relevant groups in our niche. Key Takeouts: 1) Facebook Page Creation: Comprehensive guidance on setting up and enhancing a Facebook page. 2) Group Joining: Effective strategies for choosing and engaging with niche-relevant groups. 3) Sales Techniques: Various approaches to successfully selling products through Facebook pages. We're grateful to Sheeri Uruba for her expertise and to Abdul Moiz for hosting this invaluable session. Thanks to the entire Skills4U team for organizing such a transformative experience. Our journey of professional growth continues, with Project-Based Learning driving us toward real-world success over the next 4 weeks.
