Please make sure people understand that if they have a terminal cancer, glioblastoma multiforme, or the last part of a cancer such as breast cancer, they need to know they can alert their insurance company and they will allow them to cash out their life insurance minus 4% (this may have changed % wise). My husband died within five months of his brain surgery (glioblastoma multiforme has a 10.7% life span from diagnosis to date of death) and we could have taken the policy and helped us live. His disability at the time was only $93/week in 1994 while I was a college student. It was tough had it not been for our church members. So let these people know they do not have to fight cancer and struggle paying their bills. My Dad foolishly told my sister to drop her policy since she had no husband and kids, where she could have lived in her home in Columbus, Ohio and paid it off so she could not worry about such money matters while fighting the cancer.
