Moving is exciting but, let’s face it, packing can be a bit overwhelming! ?? If you're planning a move to San Antonio, I’ve got some tips to help you pack without losing track of your belongings: ?? Label Everything: Clearly label each box with its contents and the room it belongs to. Trust me, future you will thank you! ?? Start Early: Begin packing at least a month in advance. Start with items you rarely use - seasonal clothes, books, those extra dishes. ?? Essentials First: Pack a "first-day" box with essentials like toiletries, basic cooking items, and bedding. This will keep you comfortable without having to dive into unpacking immediately. ?? Declutter Before You Pack: Moving is the perfect time to sort through your stuff. Donate or sell items you no longer need. This lightens your load and helps you start fresh. ?? Use Quality Boxes: Invest in good quality boxes to protect your items. One broken box on the way can make for a bad day! Relocating, especially for our military families and veterans, is a transition that deserves as much ease as possible. Preparation is key, and with a little planning, you can settle into your new San Antonio home smoothly. ?? What tip would you add to this list? Let us know below!

Ok anyone and everyone…… The website for ordering is complete. We do offer local pickup so we can nix the shipping. I am attaching a link. 10 pound min 16 pound max per box. 2 day shipping. Orders go out on Tuesday to miss holidays and most vacations. Thank you for everyone interested in our products. We will be keeping track of repeat orders subscription customers and will be receiving perks. Now I know a lot of you may not eat pork but, beef and lamb are on the horizon early 2025. We will ship honey when we have it. If you kind people don’t like to eat meat or get it locally there is a way to still support our small family business. Just let me know privately and we can work that out. All donations will be allocated to growth and expansion. Donations will receive gifts in the mail if you so chose to disclose. A colleague and I discuss how people today seem more tired and edgy. He commented that many of us are dealing with stress from all sides: job, political, financial, work, family, etc. Some days, I become quite overwhelmed -- with my negative thoughts pinging around out of control. When I feel this way, I tell myself I can't change what's going on, but I can change how I react, as well as the choices I make. (I also head out for a bike ride, which always clears my head.) One of my choices, which I post about frequently, is buying US made items whenever possible. The second choice is supporting causes I care about, one of which is the Essex Greenbelt's Osprey program. Each year I donate $100 toward it -- which may not seem like a lot, but it is. (I've been in fundraising and know any amount is always gratefully received.) Greenbelt, a non-profit land trust, conserves land in MA. I'm thrilled to learn a local woman in Haverhill (town next to mine) has donated two parcels of land totaling 90+ acres. I ride my bike past both a couple times a week and noticed the new Greenbelt sign last week. Hurrah! The parcels are adjacent to two small working farms, so it's wonderful this entire area will remain intact. Feeling Charitable for the Holiday Season? If you own or run a business and are thinking about donating to a charitable cause, I have a proposition for you. 170 of my students will be giving their time in the next few weeks to help and serve others in their local community in small and simple ways, and the hours add up: They have now completed over 500 hours of service this semester - mainly because they were asked, but now because they want to. So, for these last few weeks, we are going to run a "serve-a-thon". Remember things like the walk-a-thon or jog-a-thon when we old people were younger? You got your neighbors to pledge five cents or something for every lap you ran, and that money went to charity. Well, here is what we are doing: For every man hour of service, my businesses are pledging to set aside a portion of money (minimum is $1 per hour) for donation. Then, at the end of December 9th, we total the hours for those few weeks, total the number of donations generated, and then use those on projects identified on the Light the World website, such as giving clean water, or safe maternity conditions, or livestock for a family, etc. (See https://lnkd.in/gfd8pNdB). YOU control the money, YOU hold onto it, but you let THEM have a say in how its donated. So, if you want to be charitable in your business this month, join us and let these amazing students set the amount for what you will give, choose where to give it, and then partner with you in the satisfaction of doing good locally AND globally.
