"Why haven't we seen a return on investment?" "Why are we not improving patient outcomes?" "Why are we not increasing efficiency?" These are the questions plaguing American healthcare. This is the reality when the industry adopts a tech-first approach without reevaluating antiquated thinking, redesigning clunky workflows, addressing clinician burdens, and reconsidering how we measure performance and quality improvement. I hope others will follow Helen Burstin's lead.
