A few years ago, DonationScout set out to streamline restaurant fundraisers even more with a new ePayments system. We aimed to simplify the payment process with seamless online transactions. However, we discovered that while restaurants wanted online payments, fundraiser organizations preferred traditional checks, despite initially expressing a preference for electronic donations. This aligns with Henry Ford's insight: "If I would have asked people what they wanted, they would have said a faster horse." Often, consumers don’t know what they truly need. This led us to pivot. DonationScout is now acts as an intermediary, allowing restaurants to process payments online, while ensuring fundraiser organizations received physical checks. This experience highlights the importance of iteration in product development. At DonationScout, we embrace challenges as opportunities to innovate and better serve our partners in the community fundraising landscape.
DonationScout: Your AP team's newest crush ?? ?? Announcing donation processing for DonationScout. You (the restaurant) send the event donation to us electronically, we cut the check. It's that simple. Schedule a demo here: https://lnkd.in/gNdGQazm

Camden is a vibrant, multicultural borough, with 45.4% of Camden residents born outside the UK, contributing to its rich diversity, albeit with significant socio-economic challenges: - At 41%, Camden has the second-highest poverty rate in London.? - Camden faces the worst housing affordability in the capital.?? - London’s Black and Asian communities have been disproportionately affected by the cost-of-living crisis.? - Over 2 in 5 Bangladeshis and nearly 1 in 3 Black Londoners live in overcrowded housing conditions in Camden, which is considerably higher than the UK average.? - There has been a 39% rise in hate crimes all over London in 2023 compared to 2022. Our incredible community researchers are examining the impact of structural racism on housing, education, employment, and safety across the borough.? Findings from our research will inform policy recommendations aimed at key development areas, such as enhancing community infrastructure, improving educational quality with better cultural training and diverse curriculum design, and fostering pathways to employment through collaboration with local businesses. Join us in working to address and dismantle racial inequalities in Camden, and creating more just and inclusive communities for all!

?? Understanding the Difference: Nonprofit Appeal Letters vs Newsletters ?? In our experience, the disparity between an appeal letter and a newsletter lies in their approach and purpose. A newsletter serves as a soft ask, providing updates on organizational highlights, wins, upcoming events, banquets and fundraisers. On the other hand, an appeal letter goes beyond, offering a concise overview of the ministry's current state and emphasizing critical needs. It boldly asks for donations to support the cause. Giving Tuesday, Thanksgiving appeals, Christmas mailers, End-of-Year asks. If any of this sounds familiar to you, you might work in nonprofits. It's that time of year when non-profits gear up for galas, breakfasts, night outs, dances, and panels. In short-- fundraisers. So if you're one of the underpaid, passion-projecting, donor-cultivating, sponsor-finding, sweat-invested-fighters just looking to raise a little cash (or a lot), Blindeye is here with you. We are here to help tell the story of the important work you're doing. We are your bilateral bullhorn; we'll project your voice across your internet appeal, and at that Saturday fundraiser that's coming up (a little too) fast. We produce videos for nonprofits. And we offer 30% Gift-In-Kind discounts if you're a registered 501(c)3. Let's talk! [email protected] https://lnkd.in/g8Jr2gqy

The issue of low-quality in-kind donations is a well-known problem in both charity work and disaster response operations. Arizona State University’s Mahyar Eftekhar, an associate professor of supply chain management at the W. P. Carey School of Business, and two associates conducted a field experiment in the Phoenix chapter of The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, to help improve in-kind donations this holiday season and beyond. https://lnkd.in/g-zx3wCj

Partnerships are the foundation of every successful CAC.
We were absolutely delighted to receive a check from Medford Food Co-op last week as their chosen Positive Change recipient for May. Huge thanks to Medford Food Co-op and all the kind-hearted shoppers who made this donation possible! Being selected as the Positive Change recipient for May was an honor, and we are so grateful for the support. The funds received will go a long way in ensuring that we can continue to offer safe and nurturing spaces, as well as highly trained staff, for the children in our direct service programs. Once again, thank you for your incredible support! #ChildAdvocacy #CommunityFirst #ShopLocal
