Fall conference planning... preparing for this wild but familiar whirlwind experience.

Some key takeaways that I jotted down: - "Converging all lodging spend can deliver savings of up to 16%" attributed to HRS on a slide - Travel Managers said the benefits of combining transient and M&E volume were leverage during negotiations and better visibility and control of their programs. Also, many executive admins like to plan meetings and can be reluctant to support preferred suppliers and approved processes. - Hoteliers in the room were open to looking at a customer's full profile and stressed the importance of getting to know customers and building strong relationships. - The value of outsourcing to specialized resources came up several times as well. - Improvements in available data have made combining spend easier over the years.
