We think this is extremely clever from FUNKIN COCKTAILS | B Corp? and here is why. RTD cocktails index highest with the under 35’s all the data points in this direction. This cross section of Gen Z and early Millennials have something in common – they devour social media and its where they spend a lot of their time. The content hits the right markers. ? it’s an obligatory and slightly wacky April Fool prank ? the production value is high. Funkin have clearly invested many ten’s of thousands into the activation ? highly shareable content in the social networks Funkin want eyeballs The overwhelming tick here though is Thomas Gray. Most people haven’t heard of Thomas Gray, but many of the target demographic have. Thomas Gray is a social media comedian who has a loyal following (if you know you know) plus has the ability for delivering viral content (his Stag Do sketch has millions of views on You Tube alone). Thomas Gray isn’t the biggest social comedian but using him to front the campaign will have a halo effect for Funkin of being in the know and relevant. Funkin have been smart because they have done the simple things well. Know your target audience, create high quality shareable content and anchor to a relevant social media influencer.
