Exciting news from us this week: we have acquired a majority share in Contract Genetica Limited! This means we can extend our offering to include an AI Drafting tool (designed by a law firm partner by the way!), something I know will be a brilliant addition to our Legal Desktop. From my perspective, having been somewhat of a sceptic at first about how AI would fit into our business, when this opportunity came along it made total sense to us to seize it with both hands!? My latest thoughts on how legal services might be priced in an AI-driven future. Even before the current AI wave, I've argued that if you find a better way to do something, your pricing model should reflect that. Law firms are justifiably concerned about how AI might impact their billable hours. But impacting billable hours doesn't have to equate to impacting revenue. It's more a question of the solution pursued to answer the question.

A large part of the innovation professional's role in legal is understanding pain-points and finding ways to address them. In our new Head-to-Head series, we'll be exploring some of the discrete problems that exist in legal workflows and offering comparative views over the providers that solve them. In our first Head-to-Head article, we look at the pain-points around drafting discovery requests.
