Post sales kickoff musings… “Technology is a glittering lure. From one of the greatest sales pitches of all time. What is the sentimental bond with a technical product like Kubernetes? My team just got back from SKO & we talked business value. My takeaway is to ask what is the impact of your innovation on the people your product serves & your employees? Like how Spectro Cloud enables GE Healthcare Edison health services to supercharge innovation for services such as CT, MR, patient monitoring and many more—saving lives. Or for Hightouch Technologies, employing Palette Edge that literally kept a community fed, workers collecting needed wages, all during a storm that knocked most competing restaurants off the internet, unable to do business. It could also be something as “little” (by this I mean huge) as improving the daily workflow for overworked dev teams & SREs who just want to spend more time with families & loved ones, who let’s face it, if the work got overwhelming & they see another company working with more forward-thinking tech will jump ship for greener pastures. It’s not about what Kubernetes can do for your technology but what does it mean for your people & your customers?
