During World War I, transportation underwent significant advancements to meet the demands of a global conflict. Railroads became the backbone of military logistics, facilitating the rapid movement of troops, weapons, and supplies to the front lines. Motor vehicles, including trucks and ambulances, were extensively used for the first time, enhancing mobility and reducing reliance on slower, horse-drawn transport. The war also saw the expanded use of aircraft for reconnaissance and the transportation of critical messages. Additionally, naval transportation, including submarines and convoys, played a crucial role in maintaining supply lines and enforcing blockades. #WWI #MilitaryLogistics #TransportationHistory #RailroadsInWar #MotorVehicles #AircraftDevelopment #NavalWarfare #WarTechnology #MilitaryInnovation #HistoricalTransportation #contentmaker #articlewriting #contentwriting #contentdevelopment #contentmarketing #academiccontentwriting

Dear Ukrainian Warfighters... Have you ever noticed how there are NOT TicToc videos of current or social media posts about future combat operations involving the US Army Special Forces, US Navy SEALS, USMC Strikers, 75th Ranger Regiment, Special Forces Operational Detachment Delta, 82nd Airborne Division, or any other US military operations? The reason is simple, it's a really stupid idea to share such things which the enemy is watching and taking notes. It's even considered a crime to share such nonsense and especially when it jumps the chain of command and tells 5ws about the unit and the defenders in the unit. What's more surprising is that the American General Staff is unaware that Ukrainian units regularly post these OPSEC violations on TicToc and WhatNot. So obviously the American General Staff can't suggest to Ukrainian General Staff about simple OPSEC violations and how they lead to a jackpot. Or they're timid...or maybe it's a genius plan in the manner of Sun Tzu. Maybe not.

Observing China’s blockade of Taiwan during Exercise Joint Sword 2024B brought me back to my time as an officer cadet at Malaysia’s Royal Military College, where one of the core tactics we trained in counter-insurgency was to cordon and isolate the objective before launching an attack. The logic was clear: cut off the target from support, contain its ability to respond, and only then, strike decisively. This tactic resonates not just in military operations but also in today’s strategic landscape—whether it’s managing geopolitical challenges or safeguarding business interests. The importance of preparation, isolation, and timing in neutralizing threats is as relevant now as it was then. As we navigate complex and dynamic environments—be it in national security, physical security, cybersecurity, or corporate strategy—understanding how to contain and mitigate risks before they become critical is key to success. These lessons remind us that in any high-stakes arena, preparation and decisive action will always be the difference between winning and losing. #Leadership #Strategy #Geopolitics #AsiaPacific #Security #Resilience #Preparedness
On 14 October, China’s PLA Eastern Theater Command launched exercise “Joint Sword 2024B,” conducting a major 13-hour joint military drill & encircling Taiwan from the north, south, east, and west. The PLA Army, Navy, Air Force, & Rocket Force participated and focused on “sea-air combat readiness patrols, a blockade on key ports and areas, assault on maritime and ground targets, and joint seizure of comprehensive superiority.” Full report on ??@ianellisjones

Thirty-three years ago - toward what would end up being the end of Operation Desert Storm - the ordinance crew from Attack Squadron Three-Five (VA-35) loaded 22 Mk-82 500lb (230 kg) unguided, low drag general purpose bombs onto our squadron's A-6E Intruder. During the Persian Gulf War it is estimated that 4,500 GBU-12/Mk-82 were dropped onto Iraqi forces - all loaded by the strong backs of sailors and airmen. From the pictures below the task of uploading 22 500 pound bombs on a single aircraft is hard, back breaking labor. The burden of loading these weapons onto a four aircraft division only added to the daily stress and fatigue for the crew who worked tirelessly for more than 6 months. That's more than 45,000 lbs (22 tons) of ordnance - not to mention the time it took to prepare the weapons for safe release. The dedication and commitment by our Navy sailors never wavered - true unsung heroes of VA-35 and Navy Squadrons deployed in the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf. As a young naval officer, division officer, and squadron pilot I watched them toil, without complaint, instead joking and chiding each other to do more despite their exhaustion. On this given day I decided to help decrease their burden loading those weapons - just one sailor helping another - silently - without hesitation. Regardless of rank - are you willing to roll up your sleeves - and help those who never ask for help? Are you uninhibited by hierarchy? #navy, #navalaviation, #leadership, #usnavy, #innovation, #usna, #calledtoserve

When it comes to the debate of which is harder, Navy SEALs or Special Forces, the answer isn't so clear-cut. Both elite units undergo rigorous training and excel in different skill sets. Navy SEALs are known for their maritime operations and have a reputation for being the most highly trained special operations force in the world. They are designed for missions such as direct action, special reconnaissance, and unconventional warfare. On the other hand, Special Forces, also known as Green Berets, are experts in unconventional warfare and foreign internal defense. They work closely with indigenous forces to achieve their objectives. While Navy SEALs are suited for high-risk combat missions, Special Forces are trained to work in a variety of environments and cultures to achieve long-term strategic goals. In conclusion, both Navy SEALs and Special Forces have unique skill sets and missions they are suited for. The difficulty of each unit depends on the individual's strengths and the task at hand. #NavySEALs #SpecialForces #EliteForces #MilitaryOps #usarmy #usnavy #irregularwarefare #military #intelligence #pentagon https://lnkd.in/eQdW9BUk
