We're pleased to welcome Jeffrey Cruz as our new Flight Coordinator & Data Specialist, where he’ll provide flight operations support and lead the onboarding of select operator partners, aircraft, and airfields for SEJ’s FlySAFE System?.? ? “We’re thrilled to have someone of Jeffrey’s caliber join the SPARROW team,” said SEJ President Jacquie Dalton. “He will play a key role in ensuring strong relationships with partners in our SPARROW operator network, as well as support the ongoing development and management of SEJ’s FlySAFE System?.”? ? An accomplished professional with a distinguished career in aviation and military service, Cruz exemplifies a commitment to excellence and leadership. After completing Marine combat training in 2017, he pursued specialized training as a flight dispatcher/aviation operations specialist before deploying to the Middle East in 2018 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.?? ? Following his deployment, Sergeant Cruz served as flight clearance/dispatch training chief, training dozens of Marines and overseeing the dispatch of hundreds of flights and thousands of sorties. In a voluntary role, he also served as the funeral honors non-commissioned officer in charge (NCOIC), rendering honors to 60 Marines, an effort that earned him one of two Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medals.?? ? Upon his transition to the Marine Corps Reserves in 2021, Cruz served as an expeditionary airfield technician (EAF) training chief. He also served as Aviation Ground Support Operations Center NCOIC during Exercise Gunslinger 2022, and contributed to the Department of Marine Corps Aviation at the Pentagon, before concluding his eight-year Marine Corps career in 2024.? ? Cruz’s military decorations reflect his exemplary service. In addition to two Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medals, his honors include the National Defense Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, and Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, among others.? ? Prior to joining the SEJ team, Cruz served as senior flight operations coordinator at Grandview Aviation, a private jet company based in Baltimore, MD. His passions include playing guitar, modifying his 2015 Scion tC for performance and aesthetics, and deepening his expertise in aviation operations, from airfield management systems to advancements in aircraft technology.?
