Green, following Hegel’s master-slave dialectics, proposes, the well-ordered state embodies "objective freedom" because the self-determining principle within humans finds there its perfect expression. The Politics of Power: Why the Privileged Resist Change You think you know them.Then you give them a little Power and they're a whole different person. Those who are in power are almost always conservative. Those who are powerless are almost always liberal. Those in power are happy and have a lot to lose, so they want nothing to change. Those who are powerless are miserable and have little to lose, so change appeals to them. If you are at a protest, and you have zero capital (you are poor) the probability that you arrived to this protest via your own careful critical thinking is very low. What’s keeping you up at night? For me, it’s philosophy. It is ironic that my last doctoral studies includes a class on Responsible Leadership and reading the classic and modern philosophers. The current rabbit hole I’m going down is on Kant. Interesting stuff to read during a Presidential election year.
