From the article: "CarbonCapture cited 'intense competition from data centers' in the region for electricity as partially the reason why it is moving from Wyoming. To make the business model work, CarbonCapture needs to sell carbon credits at a premium to offset a company’s emissions." Even the manufactured economics don't work. And all of that is based on the fallacy of utility-scale "clean" energy. But let's destroy our environment, economy, and national security anyway.

WIND-POWERED CARBON CAPTURE PLANT TO LAUNCH IN TEXAS An initiative dubbed "Project Concho" is set to revolutionize carbon capture efforts in the United States. A consortium of US and European companies has announced plans to construct a direct air capture (DAC) facility in Tom Green County, Texas, capable of removing 50,000 tonnes of CO2 annually from the atmosphere by 2030. The $100 million project, a collaboration between Dutch firm Carbon Return, Texas-based Verified Carbon, and other partners, will be powered entirely by wind energy. This innovative approach marks a significant step towards sustainable carbon removal technologies. Project Concho aims to permanently store captured carbon underground, generating verified carbon credits for companies seeking to offset their emissions. With plans to scale up to 500,000 tonnes per year in later phases, the facility is poised to make a substantial impact on climate change mitigation efforts. Operations are expected to commence in 2028, potentially serving as a model for future DAC projects worldwide. ?
