Our last post during #BrainAwarenessWeek, is focusing on the @VALIDATE-project. In ischemic stroke treatment, timely access to appropriate interventions is crucial. However, navigating the complexities of individual patient cases while considering all factors and making fast clinical decisions can be a challenge. To support healthcare professionals, the VALIDATE team are leveraging extensive datasets and cutting-edge AI models, to develop an App-based clinical decision support system to empower them to choose the optimal treatment strategy tailored to each patient's unique circumstances. At the heart of this initiative is an intuitive App interface that provide additional information for clinicians by predicting the outcome of different treatment strategies. But the development doesn’t end there, the Validate App must also be trusted by clinicians. Therefore, the App’s reliability will be confirmed through rigorous testing in real-world clinical setting in an observational study. For stroke survivors, this could mean improvements in personalised treatment options available in acute care settings and better long-term quality of life. Hear the team explain in more detail:
