The flaw affects the 777-200, -200LR, -300, -300ER and 777F series aircraft. Boeing reported the vulnerability to the FAA, which then proposed a solution to the problem. This includes the installation of an electrical connection and grounding of a component in the centre fuel tank. Today, we are increasingly realising that almost everything that has always worked and been safe is being made worse because of price pressure. We would like to share with you recent interesting news. FAA Mandates Inspections for Gulfstream G500 and G600 Aircraft?? The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a new airworthiness directive (AD) for Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation’s Model GVII-G500 and GVII-G600 aircraft. This follows a significant incident where a failed rear engine mount was discovered during a routine preflight walk-around, revealing visible engine misalignment. The directive requires: ? Inspection of engine mount points within the pylons and engine nacelles for non-conforming hardware. ? Repairs where necessary. ? Updates to the aircraft maintenance manual (AMM) to ensure revised procedures for engine removal and installation. The move aims to address and mitigate potential unsafe conditions in these aircraft, ensuring the safety and reliability of these advanced jets. A specific incident on January 31, 2024, involving a Model GVII-G600 highlighted the issue when a partially disengaged rear engine mount was detected, traced back to the absence of a cotter pin – a crucial secondary locking device. Further inspections revealed additional non-conforming engine mount installations, not critical but indicative of quality control lapses in production and in-service procedures. The FAA's findings also pointed to discrepancies in production and AMM procedures, affecting 247 aircraft registered in the US. This directive underscores the importance of stringent maintenance protocols and quality control to maintain the highest safety standards in aviation. yea not just 747s but also A320s, B777s and other planes... indicating the snail-paced advancement of technologies in commercial aviation, with continued persistence to use outdated technologies like Floppy disks, Tubelights, Ethernet, ADF system, resistive touch panels, CRTs and LCDs, slow buses like ARINC 429 and much more. Reason: Reluctance of manufacturing country regulators to issue supplemental type certificates (STCs) and modifications (SBs and ADs) to implement new technologies.

The MD-80/88 main landing gear was showing significant vulnerability to vibratory stresses. After six instances of catastrophic failure from fatigue in the landing gear, the FAA was getting very strict about inspection requirements. This affected time in service and costs for commercial airlines using the planes, so one company sought out an alternative means of compliance. We designed an LPB system to treat the landing gear in the hangar while the planes stopped in for routine maintenance. Today, all of the affected landing gear have been processed and are regularly taking you to your intended destinations.
