Iron County Sheriff’s Complex Cedar City, Utah We’re thrilled to be working on the Iron County Sheriff’s Complex in Cedar City, Utah. The facility, now under construction, will have two jail pods, with space for a third, and include a sallyport, booking area, public lobby, and sheriff’s offices with a gym and training areas. South Jordan Public Safety Building South Jordan, UT The South Jordan Public Safety Building, prominently situated between City Hall and the library, is a three-story, 44,000-square-foot facility designed to accommodate the city’s expanding needs. This modern structure serves as the headquarters for both the police department and fire administration, providing a centralized location for public safety operations. With its thoughtful design and ample space, the building enhances the city’s ability to deliver effective emergency services and fosters greater collaboration among departments to better serve the growing community. AIA Utah is honored to share our 2024 Architecture Award winners. The Architectural Award celebrates the best architecture regardless of budget, size, style, or type. These stunning projects show the range of outstanding work Utah's architects create and highlight the many ways buildings and spaces can enhance our lives. ajc architects received an Honor Award for the Wheeler Farm Outdoor Education Center. Judges' comments included: "It’s a really strong, clear plan. Even how the electrical conduit is detailed within the wood structure—is beautiful." "The repetitive structure creates a strong, rhythmic flow. The thin roof profile is particularly striking, adding a sense of lightness that's quite beautiful—especially since such elements can often feel heavy. It’s impressive how the detailing achieves that level of finesse. It’s also a really nice relationship between the steel and wood structures; it’s an excellent project." "The landscape is quite intriguing, grounded in a simple yet effective idea. The use of slit slats is a clever strategy, and it's interesting to see this concept applied, especially in the front area where it’s not commonly found. Additionally, the landscape plays with linear elements, echoing the repetition of lines seen in the roof. This interplay of linear components throughout the design enhances the overall interest of the space."

Brigham Young University-Hawaii Temple View Apartments – Site Visit ?? Laie, HI One of our engineers recently visited the BYU-Hawaii Temple View Apartments site. The three-story student housing buildings feature ICF walls, masonry, metal stud framing, and wood-framed floors and roofs.
