Not every improvement is about AI.
When I talk to clients about leveraging AI in their organizations, I often witness their hesitance about its place in the overall process. Hearing questions such as "Can AI ping me on Slack?", or "Can we use AI to flag high-value orders?" lead me to the conclusion that there's still some confusion about what AI is, and what isn't.
The core aspect worth acknowledging is the difference between the automation and the AI. Here's what happens when we approach the change in the organization:
?? 1) Process: We need to determine the sequence of steps that lead to the expected end result. Could be as simple as a checklist on a sticky note.
?? 2) Digitalization: Then the process can be transferred to the digital form - a spreadsheet, or an app. This ensures that core information is unified and accessible for further processing.
?? 3) Automation: Repeatable tasks performed manually could be taken over by the software. Sending emails, generating documents and moving information between systems are examples of activities that could easily be automated.
?? 4) AI: Artificial Intelligence kicks in at the last stage, replacing human involvement in some (if not all) creative steps of the process. LLM model, such as ChatGPT, could generate the text summary, but it's the automation that fuels it with the context, an then take the output and puts it into the document.
Before you start effectively leveraging the AI, you need to take care of the fundamentals. It's often the simplest improvements around digitalization & automation that bring the highest ROI to your business. AI can take this one step further, allowing you to scale and make the process run without human involvement. If you'd like to discuss your use case, let's talk!

I recently had a chance to work from the WeWork coworking space in CA. Even though the experience didn't involve any AI-driven automations, they surely made the process smooth and efficient. ??
