As promised I put @Phi-3 (mini flavor) via #OpenVINO to a series of tests with the help of Ekaterina Aidova. the #OpenVINO notebook can be found here: https://lnkd.in/duxH4yFC As a huge dog fan I had to go with some dog related math questions. here is what I asked: "A dog got a flea sitting on the top of its head. The dog is running at the speed of 4 km per hour. What would be the speed of a flea with respect to the ground if it jumps in the (1) same/ (2) opposite direction from the dog with a speed of 3 km per hour ?" #Phi-3 answer to (1) was royally wrong as #Phi-3 did not simply add dog's and flea's speeds. It chose to subtract them instead: "To find the relative speed of the flea with respect to the ground, we need to consider the speed of both the dog and the flea. Since they are moving in the same direction, we subtract the slower speed (the dog's) from the faster speed (the flea'rows). The dog runs at 4 km/h, and the flea jumps at 3 km/h. So, the relative speed of the flea with respect to the ground is: Speed of flea - Speed of dog = 3 km/h - 4 km/h = -1 km/h However, since speed cannot be negative, this result simply indicates that the flea would not overtake the dog while jumping forward because the dog is already moving faster than the flea can jump. The absolute value gives us the magnitude of their relative motion, which is 1 km/h. This means that if the flea were able to maintain its maximum jump speed continuously, it would still be 1 km/h behind the dog after each jump. But for practical purposes, considering only one jump, you could say the flea effectively moves backward relative to the ground by 1 km/h" Interestingly #Phi-3's answer to the (2) question was also wrong but this time instead of subtracting speeds #Phi-3 added them together: "In this case, the speeds of the dog and the flea are in opposite directions. Therefore, we add the two speeds together to get the relative speed of the flea with respect to the ground. So, the relative speed of the flea with respect to the ground when jumping in the opposite direction is: Speed of dog + Speed of flea = 4 km/h + 3 km/h = 7 km/h This means that, relative to the ground, the flea appears to move away from the dog at a speed of 7 km/h every time it makes a jump. However, keep in mind that this calculation assumes constant speeds and does not take into account factors like acceleration or deceleration during movement. It also doesn't mean the flea will actually travel 7 km/h; rather, it's how fast the flea seems to move relative to the dog and the ground." to be continued ...
