Through their Composting Consortium, Closed Loop Partners’ Center for the Circular Economy?has taken a leading role in advancing this effort. Collaborating with compost facilities across the U.S., they conducted an in-depth study on the disintegration of compostable packaging. The results offer invaluable insights for both packaging producers and composters, paving the way for better practices and enhanced industry standards.? ? "When buying in bulk, growers can make the investment back in 1-2 years" Moving away from substrates comes with its benefits... "There are other substrate alternatives on the market which claim reusability. However, it's important to note that these products cannot easily be reused, often because it's too difficult or time-consuming to clean or the processing required is too costly. Therefore, unfortunately, these products lose the cost-benefit of reusability if becoming sustainable costs growers, they won't do it," says Marcus C., Founder and CEO of GyroPlant. ADM's regenerative program was named a finalist in Fast Company's 2024 World-Changing Ideas Awards, but there's no company to certify it. So, what does this mean?
