ThriveAgric aims to empower smallholder farmers, who produce most of the continent's food, by addressing marketplace bottlenecks such as access to inputs, farming techniques, storage, markets, and finance. ThriveAgric's Agricultural Operating System (AOS) serves as the backbone of its operations, enabling farmer onboarding, land mapping, soil testing, financing, and market access. The system has helped increase farmers' incomes by 25% by connecting them to premium markets. The company has also invested in warehouses to store inputs, providing farmers with quality seeds, fertilizers, and equipment. Investors have supported ThriveAgric's approach, leading to significant funding. Ventures Platform Fund, an early investor, recognized the startup's potential to boost food security and transform rural economies. In 2022, ThriveAgric raised $56.4 million in debt financing, including a grant from the USAID-funded West Africa Trade & Investment. Looking ahead, ThriveAgric aims to enable year-round food production in Africa. It is distributing inputs for dry season farming in northern Nigeria, targeting 100,000 smallholder farmers. The goal is to produce over 300,000 metric tons of grains during the 2023/24 dry season.
