Running sophisticated 3D applications in a remote environment is a complex IT challenge. Laptops are expensive, they break, and purchasing lead times are lengthy. Legacy VDI struggles to provide an acceptable end-user experience. The solution? Bowen Engineering chose Softdrive to solve those challenges. Bowen Engineering, a leader in complex infrastructure projects, needed a solution to support their demanding design software without the cost burden of high-end hardware. After struggling with VMware's performance limitations, they turned to Softdrive— a modern virtual desktop solution that delivers the power, flexibility, and cost-efficiency to run software like Revit, Lumion, and Twinmotion remotely. The result: a reduction in costs, faster rendering times, and the freedom to work seamlessly from anywhere. Learn More https://lnkd.in/gSevw5mt #virtualdesktopinfrastructure #vdi #cloudvdi #daas

Another week, another firmware update! These updates are coming at us quickly, and with each new version, we’re seeing incredible new functionalities. This time, I’m particularly excited about the inclusion of the Revit add-in. This new feature is a game-changer—it allows you to directly assign object layers such as obstacles, paint, and control within Revit. With this integration, you'll be able to streamline your workflow significantly. No more manual adjustments or back-and-forth between different software. Instead, you can manage and customize your project elements directly, enhancing both efficiency and accuracy. The ability to seamlessly incorporate these layers into your Revit models means you'll be able to visualize and manipulate your designs with greater precision. This update represents a major leap forward in functionality and usability, and I’m eager to dive in and explore all the new possibilities it offers. Whether you’re managing complex building systems or fine-tuning intricate details, this enhancement is set to transform how you work. #autodesk #firmwareupdate #layout #constructiontechnology #leicageosystems #hp #technology #noar

In 2019, I used Autodesk InfraWorks to transform how I handled preliminary planning and design for infrastructure projects.i.e. subscription to use Infraworks and cloud services. From the comfort of my office, I could analyze a site in real-time by generating 3D models using real-world data, including GIS information and satellite imagery. This enabled me to grasp the site's terrain, environment, and constraints without needing to be there physically. InfraWorks facilitated data integration and allowed for real-time site analysis, helping me rapidly evaluate different design alternatives and their potential impacts. The ability to simulate real-world factors like water flow and land use was key to making fast, well-informed decisions. By integrating InfraWorks with Civil 3D and Revit through the AEC Collection in year 2022, we could create a streamlined workflow from conceptual design to detailed design achieving the BIM phases of planning, design with visualization and simulation for AEC integrated projects. The next level implementation is within us through intentional collaboration. #2019Recordings #InfraWorks #QuickWorkflow #AECcollection

?? One of the hardest part about construction management is exchanging data… that’s where Autodesk Bridge comes into play and I’m a big fan of it! I craved something like this while I was still in the field. I am not the only one who loves it! My friends Brianna Grimm, AIA & Mark Mergenschroer do as well so we decided to bring you 3 reasons why you should use Bridge inside the Autodesk Construction Cloud ?? Since we all came from different backgrounds: Architect, Contractor & Owner. We each put our own take on why you should be using #bridge. As a #contractor, it is crucial to own your own data. CYA am I right? It’s frustrating though how much duplicate work needs to be done between the different parties and so sharing that between everyone’s ACC hub is game changing. For a sub to pass info like drawing sheets to a GC or even a GC to pass info from a precon project to a construction one ??. The amount of time saved by passing information back and forth through bridge instead of upload, download, save, upload, etc is substantial. Not only that but you are making sure everyone is on the right version. Ask around, I bet you are hearing this come up more and more. Why not try #bridge for yourself? #worksmarter #autodeskrevit #bim #cloud #collaboration #bridge #innovation #technology #construction #data #dataownership #sharingiscaring #autodesk #autodeskemployee Why Autodesk Bridge ? 4 pages
