(?? encouraged) (Read below) What is your go-to pair of drumsticks? . . . As we travel along on this musical journey, there are a lot of gear we use to feel comfortable while we play. How we do things may sound crazy to others, but for us, it works for how we do things. A great example is the type of drumsticks we use for various situations. For example, in the studio, I have been using the Promark’s Matt Halpern sticks. They play like a 5B but have the durability and thickness of a 2B with a nice length. But, when I play live, I love using a thicker stick in my left hand and a slightly thinner drumstick in my right. Recently, I have been having Promark’s Tommy Aldridge Lacquered Shira Kashi Oak on my left and Promark’s Forward 747B hickory on my right. This allows me to have more finesse on the cymbals with my right and lay into the snare drum with my left. At the end of the day though, it comes down to the style of music and what sticks will work best in that musical setting. I would love to hear from you guys.
