?? The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) submits its #AUKUS #ITAR proposed rule comments. ??
Today, AIA submitted comprehensive feedback to the?U.S. Department of State in response to the proposed rule implementing a licensing exemption from the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (#ITAR) for Australia and the United Kingdom as part of the #AUKUS partnership.
AIA’s comments are a combination of strategic and technical inputs, reflecting the ministerial-level nature of the partnership and the detail-orientated requirements needed to ensure its success.
For those that want to "dive deep" (pun intended), the link to AIA's 31 page submission is below. For those that need a "wave top" view (again, pun intended), the ever-helpful AIA "cheat sheet" is here and also linked below.

Overall, U.S. industry and AIA members remain deeply committed to the #AUKUS partnership. The level of engagement we’ve had with our industry on this issue reflects the promise of the partnership as well as the global security environment. AIA and its members offer this feedback as daily, practical users of the U.S. regulatory system with an eye towards meeting the strategic intent of #AUKUS as outlined by the three governments.
Hat tip to Elizabeth Patterson supported by Emma Hamilton, Marta Dehmlow Hernandez, Emily Hayes, and Ananda Miles, and others on this work over the past month. Tremendous effort from all of you.
