The Taylor Swift Effect is extreme and has a tremendous ability to impact a company’s trajectory (for the better). Fazit saw a 2,500% increase in sales within 13 hours of Taylor Swift wearing their signature product, sparkle freckles. Taylor has been known to promote many women-owned businesses, and this is just the latest example that she’s been photographed in.

This week, we officially launched Fit Liberty: a free exchange service that removes the expectation of size fluctuation from the shopping experience. Fit Liberty was an idea that my dear friend and co-founder Alex had since we came together to start this brand eight years ago. A simple idea, really, that was strangely revolutionary. Alex wanted to provide our customers with pieces that they could buy for the size they were at that very moment, without any worries... we would replace their purchase with a new size if theirs were to change within one year. In Alex's words, "You shouldn't make an emotional payment when you buy clothes." I think of this often and believe that clothes should GIVE you a joyous emotion—a eureka moment, a content feeling that you've made the right choice. That's what Fit Liberty does. "We believe your clothes should always fit, feel, and look good. And, women deserve to live their lives without feeling bullied by their size." - Alex Waldman I've wanted to formally launch Fit Liberty for so many reasons. For our community, of course, but also for my late friend Alex whose legacy I cherish and want to weave into every single thing we do at Universal Standard. The brand was her deepest passion. Fit Liberty is the true embodiment of our combined dedication to making the fashion industry a more inclusive place.
The official launch of Fit Liberty was eight years in the making. A note from Universal Standard co-founder and CEO Polina Veksler on this revolutionary initiative:

At the end of May, Enzo's Team posted a piece of content on a platform that most wouldn't admit they use. Over the following week, Enzo's Team faced a barrage of vitriolic comments, online abuse, and personal attacks from many users on this platform. However, amidst all of this distraction, what stood out most to me was how it brought our team together. Enzo's Team responded perfectly; they didn't complain or engage with the negative comments. Instead, they focused on their work, worked harder than ever, and advanced their careers. This amazing response led to a Company-Best month in June, and then another Record-Breaking Company-Best month in July. Back-to-back successes like this are a testament to what we're trying to build here at Enzo. It's never easy, and it's never straight upwards, but reactions like this are brilliant to see. To break a PB that stood for almost 12 months in June, and then to do it again in July, is outstanding and shows just how much they really did do it for the team. So, this is a public shout-out to our team to say well done and thank you. To our Management Team, our Operations Unit, and our Sales Divisions, let's do it again. Let's keep improving, keep pushing harder and keep this team moving forward. Tom Brady once said - We will build a culture of teammates that care about two things: we will care about each?other, and we will care about winning. ??? I've never been a fan of Crocs; I never saw myself buying them and always wondered why they insist on making such ugly shoes. The usual response was, "But they're comfortable," as if comfort and style were mutually exclusive. Then, years later, a splash of color appeared in the typically drab world of Crocs, and I thought, "Maybe I could wear that!" Now, the story repeats itself with Stanley cups, which I still find their size a burden to walk around carrying. Yet, it has become a cultural phenomenon. The common factor in these two stories is Terence Reilly. My observations are: 1- There are not that many interviews with him to watch on YouTube. This means he is actually doing his job as a CEO, and not talking about how to be a CEO. 2- He is not afraid to take quick decisions, and he is not boxed in traditional marketing tactics (this requires not being cheap as well). 3- He is agile and simple. Target young women, give them a colorful and chic product. Boom, Revenue Growth, Done. 4- He seems to be interested in what he does. Rare, I know! Check this out: https://lnkd.in/gBfNjjuD Note: This post has been written by a human, because LinkedIn is possessed by ChatGPT. #marketing #stanely #crocs #yourbossfragileego

What if I told you, you’re making it harder than it has to be… I’m still celebrating an $85,000 win one of my clients locked down last week. ?????? That’s ONE sale to the tune of $85,000. Yes, it’s to a very elite prospect. Yes, it’s a very elite offer. And yes, it took overcoming internal fears about “charging that much” to do it. But I’m so proud that she did the work internally AND externally to make that happen. I share this with you, because in one sale, she made more than double what the typical Black woman owned business makes in one year. ?? And yes, she did that in THIS economy. I know right now people are making a run to the land of low ticket sales. And if you live there you know the challenge. ????The constant grind for the volume of sales you need to make REAL money is exhausting. ????The already over-crowded sea of competitors that seem to increase each and every day feels never-ending. ????The overwhelm of dealing with the disproportionate expectations that typically comes with those that invest at very low levels (sorry, but you know it’s true) is stressing you the heck out! But what if I told you there’s a different way. Has the market shifted? Of course it has. But that doesn’t mean Ultra-High ticket sales no longer exist. In fact, it means that with the run to the low-ticket exits there are even fewer people around to service the needs of the elite buyer. So I have one question for you. If other’s in your industry are no longer checking for them, Why? Not? You? If you’re tired of trying to keep your head above water in the bloody ocean of low ticket sales, I want to invite you to join my in my complimentary Business Intensive, The Million Dollar Pivot. ? Want to know how to attract ultra-high ticket buyers? I got you. ? Want to know how to design the type of offer they can’t wait to buy? I got you. ? Want to know how to go from prospect to closed deal? I got you there too. If you’re a coach or consultant that is ready to up your game to serve the needs of top of market buyers for top of market dollars, then join me for The Million Dollar Pivot. Details in the comments.

?? The Power of a Black Brand: Success Lifts Us Up ??, Failure Holds Us Back ?? ?? Let me be real—one thing that’s hit me hard is just how much the success or failure of a Black brand impacts our entire community. We don’t just carry our own dreams; we carry the weight of our people. ? We’re living in a time where doors that were slammed in our faces for centuries are finally cracking open. ?? We’re breaking into spaces that were never meant for us, and we’re doing it with fire in our hearts and a relentless drive. ?? ?? But let’s not kid ourselves—when we step into the world of business and entrepreneurship, the eyes on us are sharper, the judgments harsher. ?? We’re held to standards that our counterparts don’t even have to think about. ?? When a Black brand succeeds, it’s more than just a win. It’s cultural capital, a beacon for others to follow. But when we fail, the world uses that as an excuse to shut the door on those coming behind us. ?? They see one stumble and use it as proof that we don’t belong. ?? This is why we’ve got to keep pushing, keep grinding through the bullshit, because our journey isn’t just our own. We’re setting the stage for the next generation, showing them that it’s possible. ??? ?? We need to support each other like our lives depend on it—because they do. ?? No one else is going to do it for us. ?? Check out the video from this year’s DTC. It captures how PLANTMADE and Ava Estell have become more than just brands in the UK—they’re blueprints. ?? We’ve got to keep going, not just for our own success, but to pave the way for every Black brand, organization, and individual that’s coming up behind us. ?? Stay tuned for the real story behind the recent AVA X PLANTMADE pop-up. We’re just getting started. ??? #BlackExcellence #SupportBlackBusiness #Entrepreneurship #Community #RadicalSupport #DiaryofACOO #Plantmade #DirectToCulture #DTC #AvaEstell #BlackBrands #Collabs

I hope you’ve seen the first two adverts on Channel 4 from our ‘Black in Business’ entrepreneurs. When we announced our partnership with Channel 4 to launch ‘Black in Business’, I knew that we would hear from many, many inspirational Black-led businesses. Yesterday morning I had the pleasure of meeting some. Charlie Nunn, Alex Mahon and I had breakfast with our five successful businesses The Gym Kitchen, Treasure Tress, Dalgety Teas, The Turmeric Co., L?CI. It was great to hear about actually making the adverts, but even more about the business impact that the ad is already having for Gym Kitchen, which has been first to air. One of the recommendations in our Black. British. In Business and Proud report was to create bespoke layers of support depending on the different business stages, lifecycles and ambitions of businesses. Many of the challenges reported by Black business owners relate to marketing and advertising, and investment and finance. The Channel 4 research said similar things. I hope that seeing five such inspirational businesses on mainstream TV shows other Black led businesses that they will be taken seriously. They can get the backing that they need to grow into investible, scalable businesses. By partnering with organisations like Channel 4, as well as DOES and others, means that we can provide the real support that Black businesses told us they needed. We can use our scale to start to deliver meaningful change.
