Tip for training in "Zone 2". Tape your mouth when doing light and tempo controlled exercise (jogging, rowing machine, rucking, etc..) and experiment with different speeds until your air hunger becomes heavy. Once you know where the threshold is (where you must take the tape off to breathe through the mouth), stay just below it for 10-20 minutes. Feel the breath as it travels through the nostrils and into the lungs. Breathe with your diaphragm (belly) - not the chest. Important Note: Be SAFE when doing this. Leave a corner of the tape already peeled off so It's easy to yank off. STOP if you feel panic breathing approaching, and have someone supervise you the first time you do this.
