Two prototypes and one Alpha since February 2024 and maybe I'm breaking a new record here to revenue and learning with founding members. Bootstrap, validate, ready to g(r)o(w). Our first 6 weeks First Degree. What did we achieve? ① On the fund side. We're almost ready with the legal stuff (big shout out to Van Campen Liem and bunch), our investment thesis and strategy. This gives us the opportunity to finally do what we want to do: support founders all the way and with some smart capital. ??+?? ② Our team. Debbie is finally joining us officially as of March 1st as our Chief of Staff. We've been working together for the last 7 years, so can't wait to get back for ??% I'm glad to share that we have great people that have joined our ride (in different capacities): ????????♀? Andre for Investor Relations, Simon for GTM & commercial (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success), Maurice for Product & Engineering, Josephine for Strategy, People & Org and Robbie as our chief Storytelling. ?? Exciting Update from EDUrain Inc. (Techstars '23) ?? We reported 10k active users in the last 12 months at Techstars Build in Tulsa Techstars Accelerator demo day in January and I am writing my monthly investor update we just changed from weekly to monthly and we are about to hit 10k active users this week for this year (we are at about 9.2k)! With 100% organic growth meaning no paid ads, just straight value prop messaging to highly engaged audiences and incorporating user feedback into our development direction on the day-to-day giving great customer service (we use various tools to get a snapshot of what our users are experiencing on our platform and we aggressively ask for feedback, because users like you make the world a better place)! Last week we ran a subleasing campaign where we saw one sublease get a verified student interest form to sublease that apartment within 30 minutes of sending out a targeted ad (that is unbelievable)! We also enrolled in the Stripe Accelerate program to give EDUrain Inc. (Techstars ‘23) advisory support from an industry leader to accelerate our pace in creating a world-class low-touch property manager self-onboarding and self-checkout experience! We also were just nominated for St. Louis Apartment Association local supplier of the year and after the interview, the interviewing team said "Man you kind of killed that, this is good"! I am going to publicly ask Drew McAllister to nominate EDUrain Inc. Yesterday we wrapped up Cohort 2 of The Founders Club. A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Deepak Panda, Luke Torres and Anushk Shukla for their commitment and dedication to growth and self-learning. You guys are going to go far! Deepak Panda: From being a complete beginner to app development, to now building a dream app all by himself - You have come the farthest and I'm so incredibly proud of you. You were also the first person to apply for Cohort 2 and your determination has not wavered for the last 30 days. You were the most committed and I'm sure you will go far in life. Luke Torres: Luke joined us everyday at 6 am his time. Never gave excuses even though he was a new father. Your commitment to learning and curiosity will take you far. Not to mention every time your baby daughter made a special appearance, it made my day ????. Combining your product background with the lessons from the cohort - I have no doubt you're going to be the most dangerous, knowledgeable and equipped product guy within a 100 miles of where you live. Anushk Shukla: Joined the cohort, because he wanted to learn about the tech side of building apps. You were there everyday, learning, iterating and growing and I could see it. Anushk, you had the most interesting questions. After hearing about your APP idea + with your background - makes me incredibly bullish about your future. If you're not already following them. I wish I knew this one thing before starting college You can read all the DOs and DON’Ts and HOW TOs hoping to ace your college journey and some of them might help. But fundamentally, this is the ONE rule that puts most things into perspective: CHASE YOUR OWN DREAM. You’ll meet tech nerds and researchers and start-up founders and artists and competitive exam aspirants, all hustling while managing college on the side. Just about everyone will seem to be chasing down a goal. And amidst all of this, you might be tempted to chase it too — the goals of the people you meet. Because yes, a SaaS-based start-up does sound like a great idea. But great for the dude actually passionate about building it, not for me who just got to know the problem statement five minutes into some random conversation. Instead of taking up any fancy term or profession that comes my way and trying to convince myself that's what I want to do, I want to explore all that’s possible. Because hey, what’s to lose? So the SaaS startup might still be somewhere over the horizon but the plan for the next couple of years is to test out all opportunities and stick to the one I genuinely enjoy, not what I think I ‘should’ enjoy. — Liked reading?
