On this day in 1856, Smith & Wesson was incorporated! Baird Wesson & Horace Smith invested roughly $3,600 (~$133,539 today) of their own money into a new company, licensing the patent for the bore-through revolver, purchasing a hand lathe, and developing a wooden prototype of the Model No.1. This partnership was the infancy of the modern Smith & Wesson Inc. Smith & Wesson has always been and will always be dedicated to responsible gun-owners and their freedom and security promised by the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. Here's to another 170 years!
