An employee asked me if he can WORK from HOME permanently. Here is what I told him. "As long the work gets done I don't care whether you work from the South Pole or the office. I hired you for a job and I trust you to get it done." That employee saved 3 hours on commute. Happy employees = greater productivity. I learned then that if you focus on presence, you get presence. If you focus on results, you get results. If you can't trust your employees, why hire them at all? Trust is key. Inspried by @Jenny Lee. ____ Totally agree with her answer. Working from home doesn’t imply that employees aren’t working. Trust is the unseen force that holds a team together. Build a team you can trust and grow together as a unit. Trust is the key. ?? Work place environments need to change When departments are all female, the environment needs to allow for easy socializing and quick meetings. The area should be open and divided from other departments, allowing the ladies to talk freely. This allows for higher productivity and an environment that works with their social gifts. These departments are accounting and HR. Software engineers need a totally quiet room with no distractions. Any boss that thinks frequent meetings is a good thing for the team, needs to be removed from that position. Some work environments are so bad, it is a wonder any software projects are ever finished. Engineers need a place to hide, a place to talk ideas, and a place to work. A cubical or office with a door isn't enough to support their needs. A meeting can help talk about issues, but much time is wasted in people showing off. Maturity should be required before giving them a job, as the seniority games are childish when everyone is on equal grounds. Sales, purchasing, and logistic can be chaotic and loud, so their environment needs to allow for the wiggle room. The stress can be high in these departments, so give them easy access to smoking areas, and break areas. It is time to remove the library rules at work.

The big burnout you'll see in your Global Mobility team in 2025. I keep having similar conversations with people who are in the "wrong timezone." They're either working late every single night or up at the crack of dawn to ensure they're available for calls. Most people are ok to begin with. But then signs of burnout start creeping in. ? Lower quality of work ? Missing project deadlines ? More sick days taken ? Short fuses with team members & treading on eggshells If you're hiring, could there be an opportunity for regional advisors within the actual timezone they're working with?

We've all been there - trying to find the perfect candidate with the exact skills and experience we need. But what if we're focusing on the wrong thing? I believe that character is key. When we hire individuals with strong character traits like: Integrity. Work ethic. Positive attitude. Emotional intelligence. We can train the skills they need to succeed in the role. Skills can be developed, but character is inherent. Let's shift our focus to hiring for character and training for skill. It will build a team with a strong foundation of values, work ethic, and passion.

No one is 100% fit to join your team. Do you think a single person would be able to meet your expectations for a role perfectly? I believe each person has their own unique capabilities along with their set of limitations. If you keep chasing the idea of the "perfect candidate" , that position will remain empty. One person alone might not be able to tick all the checkboxes in your scorecard. However, there's one box a candidate needs to fit in your team - ??????????????. Don't hire for perfection, but hire for loyalty. And that loyalty is built by how you treat your employees. My vision has always been to create an environment where the team can communicate openly and feel praised for their hard work. This way loyalty comes naturally.

Rewarding Employees that work hard and go the extra mile ads to gaining a Employee you can trust and depend on. Pushing employees to meet a target and not rewarding them will not make them loyal to you or respect you. Employees that is treated like slaves will not give you their best. We spend more time awake at work than at home. Be kind and respectfull to all employees, customers and suppliers. From the cleaner to the Director at the end of the day we all use our knowledge and skills to add to a growing and make a business successful. Employees can make or break a company, it all depends on the company culture.
