This year's #SelectUSA Investment Summit clearly showed how great the potential for innovative industrial applications is in a country whose policies are clearly focused on economic growth, where regulations are technology-friendly and where the willingness to invest is unparalleled. In addition, society in the USA is open to new technologies, which makes it possible to quickly establish innovations in the market. For these reasons, Oerlikon has been investing in the USA for over 90 years. ? I had an exciting discussion with Philip Haddad (President and CEO Masdar Americas LLC) and Aamir Paul (President, North America Operations, Schneider Electric) in which I expressed the wish that the support of the large government funding programs via the states should reach smaller companies more quickly and efficiently. The idea of creating ecosystems makes a lot of sense - but the smaller partners of large industrial companies also need help with their investments. The very good panel with my great discussion partners and Don Graves (Deputy US Secretary of Commerce) as an excellent moderator was rounded off by many other good conversations at the Summit.
