I thoroughly enjoyed the Women in Business event from Business Canterbury last night! ?? 300 people in the room to hear from 4 amazing women on stage! Key reflections for me were: ??? Each panellist worked in different spaces but they each bought their whole selves to the stage. Not just their "work self". It is refreshing and encouraging to see as I have struggled to separate the "mum" part of my identity from my work spaces. ??? Take. Your. Seat. We women deserve to be at those tables so we should stop letting our humility and politeness get in the way. That was from Nicola Willis - regardless of her political colours, I saw a different side to her that I now massively respect and appreciate a whole lot more. ??? If you're in a male dominated space, make sure the first thing you say is not what they expect! I loved this idea to break stereotypes and expectations early! ??? Learn to say no... especially if something is jarring with your values. As appealing or enticing as it could be, trust your gut. ??? Hearing the Two Raw Sisters talk about their "Project x" days - making regular time to work on their business, not in their business. This was great advice for slowing down to speed up and I think it's applicable to those owning, managing or leading in business! #womeninbusiness #femaleleaders #takeyourseat
