Have you ever wondered why operating rooms are so cold? It’s not just about comfort. It plays a role in maintaining a safe environment for both patients and surgical teams. However, temperature is just one of many factors that can impact outcomes in the OR. Even the most minor environmental fluctuations can affect infection rates, surgical success, and staff efficiency, from air quality to humidity levels. Real-time monitoring isn’t just helpful. It is essential. In our latest edition of The Sky is the Limit, we explore: ? Why ORs are kept cold and what it means for patients ? How environmental factors impact surgical outcomes ? The power of real-time monitoring with SkyVision Reveal https://lnkd.in/gciM5dBQ How does your facility monitor OR conditions? #PatientSafety #ORInnovation #HealthcareTechnology #SkyVisionReveal #SterileProcessing #InfectionPrevention
Surgical Light Drapes. Start Sterile. Stay Sterile.
6 天前Great post! However, I do have a response to your statement about the OR lights emitting heat. There's no heating of the OR from the lights- this would be intolerable to scrubbed personnel and drying to patient tissues creating more risk for SSIs. Through my R & D for my Sterile Surgical Light Drape, I found the only "heat emission" is through the back of Halogen lights., where the access is to change a bulb. It was imperative that my light cover not create any issues with heat accumulation- it does not- and testing on Halogen OR lights was perfect. Even after being on for 8+ hours, the lens of the light remained cool, and I could comfortably lay my hand on the back of the light. Even so, most overhead OR lights are now LED as the bulbs last longer, there's less eye fatigue and truer color. and of course, no heat generated through the lens. Thank you, Wendy Hood, CRNA Inventor-Surgical Light Drape
