Thoughts on conference panels: ?? Panels are usually one of the more boring parts of a conference. ?? The main culprits: poor questions, too many answers, and answers that are too long. ?? Solve for poor questions by preparing key questions in advance. ?? Limit the number of panelists who answer any given question to one. Or two. ?? Limit responses to one minute (or less!) and use a timer to enforce. With a bell ir a tiny orchestra to signal time’s up. ?? Add some humor! Serious panels are even more boring than regular panels. ??Put the panelists together beforehand to plan, coordinate, and gel. The best panels have cohesive panelists. Fortunately, moderator Mark Magnacca checked almost all of these boxes (no tiny orchestra). Even though we were in the siesta zone (2:05pm), it was fairly quick and lively! Serving on a panel at the Allego Sales Success Summit was wonderful and I’d do it again. Thanks for having me!

Hey everyone! With IHRSA coming up March 6th, I wanted to drop my tips to make the most of your time at the convention. 1. Make a plan. It’s essential to schedule your education sessions and book time with the vendors you want to spend the most time with. It’s easy to let the craziness of the show throw you off. 2. Spend time getting to know as many people possible. I attribute the path of my career to meeting incredible and inspiring people at this event. Wear that name badge proudly be sure to introduce yourself to everyone on your left and right in those sessions. 2a. Don’t get stuck spending all of your time with the people on your team or those who you already know. Set the goal of meeting a few new people each day. You never know what it can lead to. 3. My go to Night life tips: - Tequila on the rocks. 1 or 2 gets the job done and you’re not likely to overdo them. Plus when you have tequila in your hand, no one is trying to bring you more. - 1 drink : 1 water ratio all night - You’re not 21 anymore. No shots! ?? - The Irish goodbye is always a good idea. I’ve mastered it. ?? - No hangovers ?? 4. The tradeshow floor is amazing. Go check out everything the vendors have to offer. I like to do this alone so I can really get to see the products, hear what they have to say and to also thank them for providing awesome products and services for us and our members. 5. Every IHRSA team member you see, give them a big thank you! The work that goes on behind the scenes to make this event the success that it is in insane. Show them the love! I can’t wait to see you, meet you and have a great time with you. See you in LA ????

Working with you helped me to facilitate this day with ease. 3. The power of bringing people together is immense. 4. Set the foundation early - Welcome people personally prior to your event. 5. Venue matters - Sunshine, free parking, and easy access make a difference. 6. Have guest speakers - They add depth and different perspectives. Thank you Jane Johnson and Antje Langsch. You were amazing. 7. Lunch bonds people - Buffet style encourages mingling. 8. Close powerfully - People remember the end! Brene Brown The day was everything I wished it would be and more. Just booked the venue for Friday 8 November for an annual planning meet! Hold the date! ??
