With global views of 16.8 billion across all media platforms, China Media Group's Annual Spring Festival Gala surpasses the 17.9 million audience for "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" with Ryan Seacrest? This year, mobile viewership soared to 372 million, which is comparable to the audience for the most-watched Super Bowl broadcast in history. Ever since I landed in Asia just before the Lunar Year in the year 2000, I have looked forward to this celebration of music, drama, costumes, art, and cutting-edge technology. I must confess that my enthusiasm waned in 2020 after the massive crowds and travellers returning home for the holiday helped spread COVID-19. Hopefully, I will get back to my previous level of enthusiasm. The trendsetting Spring Festival Gala shapes event and event tech trends around the globe. This year, in addition to traditional dance and costumes, there was calligraphy, robotic performances, Chinese opera, dance, martial arts, magic, acrobatics,?and, as always, 3D projection mapping and dazzling pyrotechnics. CGTN?and its multilingual platforms via 2,900 media outlets in over 200 countries and regions featured live broadcasts in English, Spanish, French, Arabic, and Russian. The programme was even more accessible to the visually and hearing impaired via barrier-free broadcasting integrating augmented reality (AR), and AI voice recognition. Sign language interpreters, enhanced by AR effects, and audio descriptions of the performances created an inclusive experience. Foreign entertainers participated including the American rock band OneRepublic, Chinese and Peruvian singers performing 'Condor and Lanhuahua,' a fusion of the two cultures. SOURCE: CGTN ?? Through a sound production system built on reverberations and echoes, *Barrani* is a performance-concert where dance, poetic word, and multimedia allow for a new narrative of the self, between present, past, and future, in a third, in-between space—situated between the two poles of the journey and existing only in the time of the performance: the space of storytelling. We send artists into school classes, every week, focussed on children who are socially disadvantaged and usually do not have access to performing arts or fine arts. Together with professional artists of various disciplines, they can develop individual artistic projects and at the same time social skills: They can try themselves out without grades and right or wrong, discover their creativity, experience to be successful, work together, express themselves, negotiate with each other, understand each other better, have fun together, become self-confident, learn to handle complex processes and find creative solutions. These are crucial competencies which the coming youngsters and adults need in order to take over professional and societal responsibilty.
