Consumer software is incredibly fun to work on because you get to solve your own problems. One of the things we hate about the current way search works in the consumer apps we use every day is they show you a million options and often it's unclear what the difference is between each. Or when you search for flights you see 15 flights and for some reason the top ranked flight has a 12 hour layover even though there is a nonstop available for the same price. Simple AI (YC S24) is what Siri should be. They make it 10x easier for you to use your favorite consumer apps: Amazon, Uber, Doordash, Venmo, Maps, etc. They also help you do research and book arbitrary things: restaurants, flights, or that local minigolf place that doesn’t have a website. The consumer products we use every day are often confusing to use, adversarial, and sometimes downright deceptive.
