Day 2 at the Collision Conference featured an inspiring talk by Jonathan Ross, CEO and Founder of Groq. ?? Jonathon introduced us to Groq's groundbreaking AI accelerator ASIC, known as LPU (Language Processing Units). These are, hands down, the fastest inference chips available, with a target of processing a staggering 25 million tokens per second, truly pushing the boundaries of what AI can achieve. ? He used powerful analogies to illustrate the evolution of technology: ????????????????: Symbolizing the Industrial Age, characterized by the creation of machines that transformed industries and production processes, leading to unprecedented economic growth. ????????: Representing the Information Age, where the focus was on the distribution of data. This era revolutionized how we access and share information globally. ???????????????????? ????: Embodying the Generative Age, where the focus is on compute power. This era leverages AI to generate new content, ideas, and solutions, representing a significant shift in how we innovate and solve problems. Jonathon also outlined the five steps of Generative AI: ????????????: Using example templates and initial ideas to kickstart the creative process. ????????????: This step is still developing, focusing on providing necessary information and context to AI systems. ????????????: Also in progress, aiming to ensure the accuracy and reliability of AI-generated content. ????????????: Continuously improving and refining AI outputs based on feedback and new data. ????????????: Involving human interventions to make final decisions, ensuring that AI supports rather than replaces human judgment. A key takeaway from his talk was the need for reliable information sources for AI, similar to how search engines function today. This is crucial for ensuring that AI systems are effective and trustworthy. Reflecting on this session, I realize the importance of staying proactive in the face of rapid technological advancements. AI is transforming the real estate landscape – but not without its challenges. In a recent Commercial Observer article by Philip Russo, our co-founder Edi Demaj discusses how closed and siloed hardware systems are holding the industry back from fully embracing AI innovations.
