?? AI100 Unveils Lymphoma Spillover on Peripheral Blood Smear ?? Continuing our series on interesting hematology cases, we bring you a case where AI100 played a crucial role in early detection and diagnosis of lymphoma spillover. Case Details: A 48-year-old male with an unresolved low-grade fever for 6 months. No significant weight loss. ANA immunoblot was negative, but ANA by IFA was positive. CBC Findings: * Hemoglobin: 9.7 g/dl * WBC Count: 14.14 x 103/cumm * Platelets: 1,16,000/cumm * Differential Count: Monocytosis (22.9%) Analyser Flags Raised: * Blasts? * Abnormal lymphocytes? * Immature granulocytes? * Atypical lymphocytes? * Left Shift? * Monocytosis AI100’s Role in Diagnosis: When the peripheral blood smear was scanned on AI100, it flagged 13.2% monocytes and detected large atypical cells with convoluted nuclei, scanty to moderate cytoplasm, and conspicuous nucleoli. Although the percentage of such cells was low, the visual evidence and automated flagging provided by AI100 helped the pathologist identify suspicious cells early and recommend a bone marrow aspiration. Final Diagnosis: Lymphomatous involvement was confirmed on bone marrow aspiration.
